Our DOM has asked if anyone is interested working tomorrow to try and clear the parcel backlog.

Put my name on the sheet hoping I would be able to at least clear the backlog of packets on my own cycle delivery. These include a multitude of packets and recorded deliveries. Was told large driver items and parcels will be the only priority. Myself and at least three others scrubbed our names. Come monday our office will have a four day backlog and as we have been told we cannot go out due to conditions which is fair enough but why is no common sense being used?. Now its a case of working to your time and be done with it. I would suggest most parcels and large packets are not priority as they are presents purchased on line for christmas by the same panic brigade who bought up all the milk in my local supermarket and left me with soya milk in my bloody tea. Guess the old folk will have to wait for the correspondance from our local hospitals. What a way to operate a company!

Correct,my mother in law got a letter today from hospital posted on 26th for her to attend a pre op consultation on the 2nd December!!!!!

Our drivers are going out sunday to help clear the mountains of packets but no sunday walks. still pretty icey round our way though to be honest.

Same here, but who cares? I wouldn't have gone in on Sunday even if it was to do all the packets on my round - and they were asking (if I'd go in, that is). Seriously, why work Sunday? It's your time, not theirs. I don't intend to go a single extra yard to help clear the backlog, I really don't care. I'll pack the five bags I always pack because that's how many bags I know I can do within my hours. I'd suggest at present that represents one row (out of four) on my walk. Come Tuesday, that may increase to a row and a quarter. But, much as manager logic seems to suggest otherwise, I suspect there will come a finite point where my determination not to push myself will mean that I will max out at two and a half rows due to the backlog, in particular, of packets and parcels. I'd be lying if I said I cared - what I do care about is the grief that they shall try to force upon me to try and alleviate my stubbornness.

Staying in bed with the lurgy. Balls to working a sunday to pull these lying sh*tes out of the proverbial. I think dwlivering all of yesterday delivery and todays mech is enough tbh.

Not even vans going out at our office, 90% of roads are only cleared wide enough for one vehicle so there's nowhere for the vans to stop!

Got some serious catching up to do in the next few weeks, 4/5 days of no deliveries now (except a few firms in the town centre)

So what is your solution then, it's peoples presents, i remember being on the other side of the fence waiting on something to come, I HEAR what your saying, it IS sunday after all, but HOW else are you supposed to clear them?
