Begging For xmas Tips

This xmas is my 16th in the job,I like to do my round and not spend too much time chatting to customers,Suppose im a grumpy sod when im on the streets,So this maybe the reason my tips are only around the £50 mark if im lucky.

People in our office are literally obsessed with people tipping,Every morning the same people talking about what they got the day before,They will take larger packets out just for the hope of getting a tip,The rest of the year they are lobbed out for the parcel men to deliver.

Now a few in my office mayaswell pedal about with a sign on their heads saying "Please give me a tip"

Some send xmas cards to EVERY SINGLE HOUSE They deliver too,I can understand people sending to customers they get on with and have time for,But EVERY Delivery point? Cmon.
A couple of the girls wear santa hats,Ok it doesn't seem so bad on a woman,But 2 of the men wear them too,Cycling about with a stupid fecking santa hat on "Oh look at me i love christmas................Please tip me." One of these has a little transistor radio and on xmas week he puts it on his bike playing the xmas songs out as loud as the thing will let him.
Im waiting for the day they start singing carols while knocking with a packet.

Ive known one guy who delivers a personal card to all his customers and has done for years. Its not something i would do but in fairness he does bring in around £700-800 in tips so i guess i can see why he does it.

Can't stand these fu**ers who for 2 weeks of the year can do all their large items or dodgy recordeds, but for the rest of the year dump everything they don't wanna take on the driver, especially the ones who root through the York chucking stuff here there and everywhere searching for their stuff, if they can take it at Christmas (our busiest time), they can take it for the rest of the year!!!!

I would imagine he would make as many enemies as friends.
People are not stupid and unless you were friendly with your Postman you would see right through this unsolicited begging letter as soon as it hit the floor.

He does use cheapo ones from Poundland but ive no idea how much they cost him, he has about 550 odd calls. His quite jammy that he has 3 sheltered housing flat blocks who all have a collection for him. I know last year he told us they even had brandy and mince pies waiting in the day room of the biggest one where they all wished him merry christmas, he recons he walked out with £180 in a card. He told us he only gets a little less from the other two so thats prob over £400 from just three calls

I know the feeling. I'm happy to take what I can on my duty, and if I know I can't manage it, then I'll pass it on. However, there's a guy at another office who, besides using his own car for delivery, delivers his own packets and parcels at xmas, and he rakes it in. Thing that annoys me, they never say thanks to the parcel guy/gal who gets lumbered with their sh*te. And the people who don't give a share to the reserves that cover their round.

I used to wear the full santa suit at christmas, with permission of course, and two weeks before christmas and for a week after I would knock on 660 doors and wish them the compliments of the season with a jolly ho ho ho ............................ one year I made £2.50p

I did always send a thank you note to those who did tip me either with a christmas card if in time or a straight thank you note if it was later. One lady once chased me down the road in the middle of Feb with my tip.................she'd been abroad over christmas
