The other day I had some muppet come into our callers office wanting his packet. The 739 was only left 20 minutes previously. When I told him to read the back of the 739 where it said leave 24 hours, he still wanted to know where his packet was !!!
The expression " s**t for brains " springs to mind.

Customers most of the time never look at the back of a P739. Had one on saturday, marked the date for the 29th on the back, she walked to the office and back which took her an hour and a half.

She hunted me down just at the end of my shift and asked for the letter as she didn't realise the date on the back of the P739 till she got to the office

Asked her for I.D, took the shut notice off her, & got a signature, but normally i wouldn't do this.

posted a p 739 for a recorded letter ..20 mins later had a bloke running up to me out of breath ..saying he had ran all the way to the post office ( a long run ) and back ..told him ..it goes back to the depot after i have finished and not to post office ..

Pre revision even our shop staff and managers didn't read the back of the cards . I've had countless phone calls to my home in the afternoon asking me where Mr or Mrs so-n-so's packet is . On the back of the card , please allow 24 hours before collection . The packets had been pouched off at the Post Office waiting for collection . If our own staff and managers don't understand them what chance have our customers . To me their self-explanatory but there you go .

Had one come up to me the other day on my round,asked me if i had his thing and showed me the card,took me a minute to realise it was from a completely different area and he'd been visiting his friend and perhaps as he had the card on him thought that i would.........

1. People coming in the same day they got the p739 and demanding their packet.

2. People not reading the back of the p739.

3. People coming in with no ID or a letter written by someone saying they can collect the packet = no good go away.

4. People arguing about the customs charge or surcharge and trying to get out of paying it.

5. People coming in to complain, then getting angry when I wasn't interested and just gave them the customer service card.

6. Unemployed bums wanting their giro because they think we have it in the callers when the postie didn't have it for them.

7. Idiots that get a Special addressed to their ebay username like buttheada1muppet@hotfail.prat Change your postal address on your friggen ebay accounts and this won't happen.

8. People bringing dogs or bikes into the callers office and refusing to leave them outside.

I could go on and on lol! I was so glad to get out of the callers and back onto deliveries being stuck in there was a year of utter hell.

Off subject but I worked for Dixons in the 1980s. The shop was next door to a shop called Connect that sold similar goods. One day this bloke came in with a Philips TV and ranted for 10 minutes about how disapponited his son was when he tried to use it and it didn't work and how he was going to do this and that to our manager. After he'd paused for breath the manager told him we didn't sell Philips TVs and that he may want to try next door..

Not even an apology.

we had one yesterday asking us to help him to SEND a parcel. we tried to explain he needs to go to a post office but he kept insisting that because we were Royal Mail he could do it at our D O. well he was one of our foreign friends!

Bloke coming in at 5.59 saying "Glad I made it (we used to close at 6.00)the wifes rung up there's something to collect".......response "Do you know what it is", bloke says "No idea".................response "fine come back tomorrow with the card we left and you'll have it in no time"
