Driving test for shared van

Our office has been told that in the next couple of weeks those of us who have signed up for shared van duties will each have a one hour "driving test". Could anyone that has had this experience detail what this "driving test" will involve and who conducts the test? Thanks.

should have had a test before you were able to drive any RM vehicles. This was enough and we have shared vans but no extra test

I should have made it clear, the "driving test" is for delivery staff who have never driven RM vehicles and is part of the revision that is taking place in our office.

its not a test you just drive round for an hour. its just to see if you are safe the only thing we had to do was reverse round a corner from the left and a corner from the right and reverse into the office

its nothin as shepard mentioned its conducted threw the AA driving school.just show ye licence and go out,you do not have to drive as mentioned if you dont want to

When I had my RM driving test way back in 93 or 94 at the tender age of 18 I went out in a Sherpa for a little while. I think it was to be certain I could handle a veichle above small car size.

Nothing to worry about, just go where he tells you it's not really a test, as you already have a licence it's a wast of time. Once again it's nothing to worry about.

ALL I DID ON MINE WAS DRIVE TO A DIFFERENT OFFICE PARK UP GOT TO THE CANTEEN THEN DRIVE BACK SOME TEST

We called it conversion training - the test was about 10 minutes in one of the "dome" vehicles, they were a long wheeled based something or other with a high top and I think a roller shutter door..............there was never a test for ordinary vehicles..........though judging from some of the comments since park and loop it's like a white knuckle ride on Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Although its not a test and you do drive around for a while reversing round a corner etc you are assessed by the AA geezer. What you will find is you are a medium risk (just above a low risk) to give the AA a perfect excuse to retain the contract and conduct further tests in the future to make sure you have not become a high risk !! All nonsense...Everyone I spoke to in our office who took it was a medium risk not far off a low risk,,,What a coincidence !!

'driving test' is the wrong phrase to use. so is 'step-up' training as it was called when i did it. its just a driving assessment and i did mine with an AA representative. we just drove around the streets doing the odd manoeuvre and the sight test. its nothing anyone with a full driving licence should struggle with.

hi, ive just been told ive got to do it on a Friday afternoon (rush hour) from 2 to 6pm - 4 hours!!
