Snow - Monday No Pressure Overtime Split Topic

Right I'm guessing this might be the place to post this, Can't think where else to get advice before tomorrow (hopefully).
I work in an office with no reps.
Yesturday I walked into the office because of the snow (usually drive), we were told we would not be going out on delivery as it was to slippery.
We were told to sort all the mail, and prep our fittings with the mail (including leaflets).
Then just before 10am I was informed we were allowed to go home, but only if we agreed that monday we delivered everything. No matter how much there was, no booking overtime, no bringing it back!.
I checked with the assis manager and was informed that was the case. Since I was not going to agree to that, I stayed put.
When the manager walked in, and I had a short converation with him, he seemed to be saying the same thing. So me and a very small few stayed. Then he asked me a few minutes later if I was going home, so I said "ok", then he said so you are ok for monday?, to which I said "well I'm not going over my time". He then told me to carry on sorting the mail then.
I asked the few reamaining boys what they were doing, they all informed me they wee finnishing their prepping and leaving. They seemed unaware of the fact that they were supposed to take everything monday, some of them went out of the office laughing at me, there were 2 boys leaving that office that are not even in next week.
I was now the only person in the office apart from the phg, the manager had gone home the assis manager I was told would be back later.
I stayed over an hour by myself, sorted the what was left of the ips, preped my fitting.
Then since there seemed like nothing left for me to do, and since there was no manager there I left.

Now my problem is this, in our office at the moment it's supposed to be 3 and a half hour walks.
Mine and one other was put up to 4 hours, over a year ago. So come monday I will be looking at far more work than the rest of the office!. The manager will be expecting me to do all the mail from Saturday and monday, since he will say I left.
I may have gone over on monday anyway, but that should be my choice, not his by blackmail!.
With no rep in the office the manger quite often say's what I think is rubbish, but there is no way of knowing for sure.
I did have this happen once before =, I had my day off and it snowed, the next day I had 2 days mail to clear. He gave me no help, and sent me out early. I spent 5 and a half hours delivering. Don't want to do that again ...
Any advice from a rep, or anyone who knows, would be very helpfull.

There is NO agreement on claw back of hours at national level.
Your manager believes he has struck a temporary agreement at local level but it is not binding on everybody because all overtime must be voluntary so each individuals circumstances must be taken into account.
You have already told him that you are unable to comply with this arrangement so on monday you work to your time.
I would however have stayed until my time on saturday....even if it meant sitting doing nothing.
In my opinion the majority of your office are idiots for even considering his idea.

I don't mind going out on delivery if there has been fresh snowfall, its when it has'nt snowed for a couple of days and has compacted into ice. Thats when we should'nt be going out.

I agree, but it is very tiring walking in the snow and accidents are more likely to occur when people are fatigued.

Fishyking- be prepared Monday morning:
You told the gaffer on Saturday that your working to time Monday.
You stayed on to clear sorting on Saturday when others (+managers ) went home.
If he wants to make an issue of you going home early, then from your point of view he his picking on you because you have told him your not willing to do unpaid overtime. If he says your talking rubbish ask him for a B&H Form and see his reaction. Good Luck.

My point is I don't believe he made this deal with most of the othe boys, it was just aimed at me mostly.
Some of the other boys I spoke to before they left were unware of any such conditions, so he didn't tell all the boys, there was no anouncement made.
The assis manager there is a wind up merchant, he loves to mess with your head.
I suspect this started as one of his little jokes, and the manager decided to go with it when I checked with him.
They would find it a big laugh to have me working well over 2 hours by myself in the office after everyone else left.
And then on Monday not make them work past their time, it's the sort of thing that they do to chip away at you.
The boys will not back you up they will just laugh at you.
I'm not in Scotland I'm in wales, Hills everywhere.
It's not snowing here at the moment, but it's due back I believe tue and wed quite bad.

These type of stories we read in here really annoy me and stuff like this should be able to be legally recorded by employees using the equivalent of dictaphones i.e. audio but not video record. Employment rights people would have a field day on quotes like the above which ought to result in these misinformers being sacked!

As it happens I do record things when I expect trouble, but had no idea this was about to happen. I'm wondering if they will be doing this again tomorrow, as the ice is still quite bad. But this time my mp3 player will be ready for record.
I'm hoping to get them admitting to what I would call blackmail.
