I am now geting to that age where my fingers lose all feelings as the temperature drops!
The usual wollen fingerless gloves help to a point- but once they become wet seem to conduct the cold rather than prevent it!
Anyone found any really good gloves that keep your hands if not fingers actually warm?
I HATE winter!!
I know a guy who wears a latex glove(the type surgeons use).Says it protects your fingers from the cold.
Then put on pair of leather weight lifting gloves,way better than RM's gloves.
i use a pair of fingerless neoprene gloves,they cost a tenner, think i got them out the daily express, best i have had so far, they still keep you warm even when they are wet, stuff they make wet suits out of
The posters put up at work showing the new uniform stated we would get some nice grey fingerless gloves to match the new hat , We got handed out some really really cheap blue ones that looked like someone had snipped the tips off the ends with some scissors lol. Wore a pair for a week and they started unravelling themselves through the snipped off fingers.
We should not have to put up with fingerless gloves for the winter... Its the fingers that feel the cold most!
Royal Mail need to provide us with uniform fit for the purspose of delivering mail in sub 5C weather: Full finger; good insulation; able to still filter through mail bundle; will not get eaily snagged on badly designed letterboxes.

Over the years ive tried all types of full fingered gloves from wool to leather and ive had problems with them all. I have a thin pair of cotton Damart fingerless gloves which i wear under the RM ones, which helps a bit.
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

couldnt agree more. all these fingerless tip gloves do is centralise the coldness to other parts of the hand(s) rather than the full hand

Yes ive got them (but not fingerless) ,they are thin enough to work with the mail .They work really well when wet but don't take them off because it takes ages to get them warm again .You get get them for around a fiver if you look(aldi ,lidl,ebay )
sealskinz waterproof gloves look good.not tried them yet but santa is bringing them hopefully.
ebay selling them, expensive at £20 but if they do the job be well pleased.

I use them white gloves, full fingered with the blue grips on that drivers use, they are good and don't obstruct you posting letters, can still grip all the letters.
I bought a pair of gloves from outdoor world 4 years ago and even though they were expensive (around £30 ) they are brilliant, there made for cyclists, very lightweight made from sealskin with rubber dimples on the fingers, windproof, waterproof and they do work I wouldn't be without them in the winter.
