How long to tie up a walk, pre and post revision?

Just wondering if people could hazard a guess at the average time it takes to tie up a walk. Reason I ask is with the revisions coming up our new walks are averaging 4.05 hours and with a half hour break, that leaves 25 mins to tie up, bag up and out the door. I am usually a reserve so most walks i do take a bit longer.

It used to take me about 45 minutes from the end of prep till I was ready to leave the office. That's before any revision. To be honest, if the revision adds 45 minutes onto the delivery, it will only add at most, another 5 minutes onto the indoor time (post prep).
But, it cannot be done on a 5 hour duty.
5 hours less 4.05 delivery, less 30 minutes travelling less 20 minutes meal relief, leaves a total of 5 mins in the office. Simple arithmetic is too complicated for RM it seems.

If my walk has been chucked in fully, then sorting out the packets, redirections and missorts plus tying up can usually be done in 45 minutes. We're pre-revision (the good side).

Thanks for the input. Theoretically, after the revision we ( 5 hour contracts) should just be tying up and sorting the packets ONLY. 4.05 hour walk (which apparently includes travelling to and from your walk) 30 minute break leaves 25 minutes for tying up and parcels.

Our office were told today that if you take out 5 bags(example) you have to deliver those 5 bags and as in your contract. even if you are over your duty time!!
Anyone shed any light on this.

The meal relief for a 5hr duty should be 30 minutes.

While I wouldn't normally disagree with anything FT posts, it isn't exactly garbage.
If you believe you are going to have difficulty completing the delivery in your contracted hours, then you need to speak to your manager before setting out on delivery.
This doesn't include problems that may be encountered while out on delivery, such as late drop bags due to the driver being a cnut or a van breaking down.
It does say somewhere (conduct code?) that if you go out on delivery, you deliver it all unless you have previously spoken to a manager.

Would it be advisable to flag this up to my rep before the revisions are implemented as there are to be some walks allocated for part timers only.

Did your rep not do the revision?
Also you forgot to mention travelling time,or is this P&L?

I think as the walks haven't been finalised yet who does what when and how hasn't been addressed yet. Priority is to equalise the bigger walks and then all else will be scrutinized. To be honest, I think the part time workers will be more of an afterthought than at the front of the queue for sorting out.
