Walk test time

Just a quick one.

Just had a 3 hour 50 min duty tested, came out as 4 hours 4 minutes (14 mins over its time).

DOM says it was a slightly busier day, so he could knock that down to 3 hours 40.

Can he just say 3.40 off the top of his head, or does he have to use some sort of guide for that estimate? Call rate wasn't particularly high apparently, the guy was walking by a fair amount of doors, not hitting all of them by a long way.

No, LOL, what was the point of testing it in the first place if he just adjusts the answer to suit.
What does geo route say is the correct timing of the walk? Georoute (imo) is fairly consistent in most duties.

In my DO Georoute is missing in action. We have a phantom manager 'away on a course' to learn it, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting.

The DOM is working on the sly here, he picked this duty to test because he thought it was easy, that opinion being in his words because "floaters don't complain when they're on it". It came out over time and there have been no more duties tested.

What good does a walk test do now that our shitttty union has got rid of maximum delivery spans. Surely Dave and Billie would just allow the DOM to get you the door earlier.
This just underlines how bad we did at the last national negotiations and why we need shot of anyone involved in them.

Strange how a Tuesday was picked for testing, often seen as a lighter mail day but more specials (I had 7 SD and 14 recorded today, lovely, 50 minutes extended delivery o/t)...

If a single day's test is standard proceedure throughout the company, the whole thing is a farce, especially if nobody in your office is going to challenge your DOM's "fudging" of 3hrs40mins after it taking 4hrs4mins! A testing week of six continuous days, Monday to Saturday, would give a much more statistically accurate results.

Kittikat say "8 out of 10 cats preferred it," but they probably used more than ten cats to draw that conclusion!

I got my walk tested on a Wednesday (which I agreed to) all though the area rep said it should only be done thursday or friday never the less it was still 1.5hrs over 4.25 hrs
