What's going on!!!!

Can somebody please put me in the correct direction as to where I can find the rules on an office resign? Basically what has happened in my office is the DOM has decided which duties are going to be part time and Full time. All the walks are the same length so its the work that is done inside that determines a full time and part time duty. Now because of this seniority has gone out of the window on the resign. Surly he should have started at the top of the seniority list and changed the duty to part time only when a part time person picks it? Also because he has done it this way where only part timers can pick part time duties (which he has decided to be part time) people right down at the bottom of the list have a duty and full timers higher up the list don't! People who have worked for royal mail for 12-15 years don't have a fixed duty yet people who started 12months ago do!!

if so on which basis?
if your manager is just allocating walks to certain individuals,then he is wrong
its up to your union rep to put him straight

So,have you had a revisoin and were you all involved?
If it is a revision then where is the rep and also the whole office should have their say on this.
It is NOT up to the managers what goes what way,it is YOUR revision.

senority is the only way if the boss doesnt change either get rep to go to disagreement
or take out a grievance on him as he is not goung through the ir framework and anyway
just tell him to f**K OFF

Had our re-sign last week and people are NOT happy! Full times with 10-15 years under their belt haven't got a duty. Part timers who have been there for 2-4 years have! Full timers are now 'leave reserve' so they will hardly ever get sat off or long weekend. One lad has 30years in but he has had to settle for a rotation! People who have used 'Family Friendly' have jump the que and also people who have a limp who have claimed DDA! It's a scandle!

same here but were not even on resign yet.guys like us with near 12 yrs service havent even got a duty and get kicked off our floating jobs while part timers just in door all happy on there own walks!!!!!!

ive heard at Denton m34, that the 2010 office revision is a shambles, packets from weeks ago still in the office. posties out till 4.p.m, being bullied into working over. not taking there breaks due to deliveries taking 5 hours or something like that... and mail failing every day... whats going on...

Since Royal Mail and their best buddies the CWU have come up with these changes I have lost the following:-

Early shift allowance
Door to Door payments
Afternoon SA overtime
My long weekends
My duty

In exchange I have been given:-

£20 a week hush money
More Door to Doors
Longer Saturdays
A Leave reserve duty

oh I am also £3.01 a week better off aswell (No more union subs for me)

No duties should be made P/T you just go down your seniority list if and when it comes to a P/T picking a duty then it becomes P/T simples.

Your DOM is bullshitting you.

If your office lets him throw seniority out the window on your heads be it but this wont happen in our D/O.

Im a bit confused as to why your rep let your DIM do what he has and most importantly why the office let him do it ??????????????????????

there loads more part time duties now though ,who get there own walks ,full timers been there for years get the cleaners job! if lucky

Bolloxs mate hes had one over you all and sadly your rep and your office let him as your rep is only as strong as your office.

My advice Down tools but i think its too late mate he had you.

Contact your branch asap raise the issue but then again this could be your main reason for downing tools until its resolved when your area rep will have to get involved.

It happens, these full timers are obviously not senior enough to get a full time duty of their own, so they need to become a full time floater or reserve. It's either that or they become part-time and have a duty and let the most senior part-timer become the full-time reserve. Btw it's the employees who are full time and part time, not the duties, so whoever pics a duty be it a full timer or a part timer then that's what the duty becomes.
