What's wrong with it is lots of, if not all "part-timers" will work far more hours than their contract on a regular basis (especially during Xmas), but they still get shafted with the pro-rata payments. Whereas a full-timer can quite easily work under his hours for the majority of the year on a weekly basis (as happens with at least 2 people in our small sub-office, but they get the full wack payment. That's what is wrong with that.

Yup! Especially those on 10 hour contracts, working 40 hours a week. Worked same hours as a F/T but only gets 1/4 of the bonus?!

Should be based on the hours you've worked thru the year to a maximum of £100 rather than your contract. Although, in my case, it'd be the same outcome haha

If you are PT and work extra then your tax credits will be less. Does a bonus affect tax credits?
Thats why he's saying about working to your time cos you end up with less tax credits, you dont get OT until after hour 40. Is it worth it?

PT only get full £100 Xmas bonus if they get a temporary FT contract for the whole 4 week Xmas pressure period.
Not if their hours are just being made up by SA or OT.

If a p/t has increased their contracted hours to 40 for the 2 weeks of the xmas pressure (where we are this is 40 hours over 6 days but it may be different where you are) they are entitled to (and will recieve) a £100 xmas bonus.
And you can quote me on this.
Your DOM should have confirmed this last week on whatever it is they do (ECA?) to ensure it is paid before xmas.
