I have to point out like the majority of other offices 1/3rd of all walks are now part time.every walk where a postperson leaves the office is replaced by part timers usually 9 0'clock starts!
all but 3 of these post persons use their cars on delivery,but they are not the only ones i would say that 2/3rd's of the full time post persons use their cars!
it seem to me that these people don't really care what happens to the royal mail because they are more intent in saving leighton money!
at present there are not enough safe drops for pouches in the bs15/bs30 area and the management promised that there would be ample pouch drop facilities availible at the time of are last revision!they assured us that planning permission had been obtained(lie)!
If everyone who uses their car still want to do so why don't they take their first pouch only and then arrange for their other pouches to be dropped off by the delivery drivers?
this would call total mayhem for the managers because they would have to find safe drop points!the driver would spend most of their working day dropping off pouches also bringing pouches back that they felt that the drop points were unsafe.posties would be hanging about waiting for pouches ,so would probably have to cut off or claim overtime.the delivery drivers would not have the time to complete their firms and rural deliveries.
with the cuts that have already taken place there would be no way that the royal mail would be able to cope with the demand!
leighton has already shown us that he doesn't have a clue about what it take to run a successful delivery operation!
da! anyone can make a profit by putting up the price of a stamp and saling off the best bits of the royal mail to our compeditors!
but it's us posties that keep the royal mail going! SO COME ON FIGHT FOR WHAT RIGHTFULLY OURS!

People who use their cars on delivery, are the knife that those two clowns, Late one & Dozier , use to slash away at
our jobs. Of all the buffoonary that goes on in 21st century Britain, the use of cars on delivery really grates with me.

In the case of the new faces using cars on delivery. The managers certainly wont have told them they are not insured and if mail is lost from their vehicle they will be sacked. And also, and more insidous is I wouldn't at all be suprised if they are feeling that their job would be under threat if they started cutting off or otherwise creating a fuss for the management. They'll no doubt be on short term 3 month contracts and will be worried that if they do cause unrest their contract wont be renewed. Which they are probably right to think.
Best thing they could do is leave their cars at home and pretend they have to because the wife needs it.

As for regular full time posties using cars on delivery. Wake up you sausage jockeys!!! If you need to use your car to get done on time, then your walk is obviously too big, so cut off! How much money are you basically *giving* royal fail by using your own petrol to do your job?
