Dogs, which breeds are the worst offenders?

So far in my 3+ years with RM i have been bitten/nipped/lunged at by Yorkies, Shar Peis, Jack Russells, Boxers, Rottweilers, mongrels, even a trio of Bichon Frise. The worst offender with a score of 4 attacks? F**king Border Collies! Too clever by half and very popular on some of the estates where the dog's i.q. is greater than that of all the inhabitants of one of the streets combined. So which dog has been your nemesis?

had plenty of near misses, Jack Russells, Chocolate Labs and the odd Staffie

The only collie I ever delivered to was scared of me...

There was a vicious little yorkshire terrier that jumped up at the gate I was stood behind and managed to get a hold of my hi viz vest thru the small gap.
I was bitten by a jack russell type dog when I was in the garden NEXT DOOR!

Apart from that all the dogs seem to like me. Staffy thing came escaping over a fence and charging towards me in the street. I braced for impact and all it wanted to do was lick me to death. There was a dalmation that was down as a dangerous dog on my walk but he was soft as sh*t with me. And there's a little Westie that gets so excited when I get to the gate it does a little wee...

Collies. They just do not like me at all.

I get on well with dogs, as i mentioned in another thread i have had dogs all my life, i come from a dog loving family so i know how to approach and treat dogs.

Staffies? Love me.
Akitas? Best damn dogs in the whole world.
Rottweilers? Cuddly and loveable.
Alsatians? Love 'em to bits.

But Collies? Bloody hell, so many of them have went for me i just don't bother my arse with them anymore, and i never run from a dog when it comes at me i just show it who the boss is so i think they have some sort of Internal Attack Network (I call it I.A.N :P) they all report back to and that has me marked as public enemy number 1!

Never been attacked by a dog but also find collies by far the most agressive dogs!

They all try and get me, but they're a bit surprised when I try and bite them back. The most vicious dog I've encountered yet was tiny - I was laughing at it as it wrapped its jaws around my ankle! I like dogs but some people are so silly with their dogs, they have no common sense whatsoever. The key is in the name. Dog, not child. My dogs are absolutely lovely. But they frakking hate the postman simply because he exists. I never let them near him.

I have never found any dog to be more aggressive than german shepards / alsations, they are just frikkin nuts,
a walk i was on 3-4 years ago, there was about 5 on it, and everyone of them wanted a piece of me

going back a few years, i'd just started on a new walk, was walking up the garden path, and this elderly lady opened the front door as i was approaching, 2 little terrier "rat dogs" ran out and proceeded to do figure of 8's around my ankles snarling and snapping at me,
i was tempted to drop my bag on one of them, but held back.
one of the b***ards bit me just above my ankle and drew blood, i wasn't happy,
a couple of days later, the old bint does the same again, opens door, dogs run out,
only this time, i snapped, i booted the first (Johnny Wilkinson would have been proud of it ),
it must have somersaulted 3 times before it landed (no exageration),
it managed to get up and run back inside,
that was about 10 years ago, i can still remember the noise it made.
the old bints daughter seen everything from the kitchen window,
she came out the next day to apologise,
and explained that her mum has alzeimers and keeps forgetting about the dogs
kinda felt bad after that .........

Shetland Collies.
Mad Alsations' Ditto. dito. ditto,
Crazy Dalmations.
Rotties. the huge smelly ones, who, even after their owners have built a higher and higher fence to stop them jumping over, still manage to escape and attack.
And those mixed bunches, maybe three to a house, whose owners always persist in opening the door, with them snapping behind!
Cats only trip me up, often get followed on walks with them rubbing against my leg, and squeezing through them!

The 2 legged leaders of their pack are usually the ones to blame. Also your approch to the dogs as well. There is one Rotty on my round built like the hound of the baskervills, no one else can approach it yet it acts like a puppy round me.

Collies and German Shepherds will try to work their way around you and get you in the soft flesh of your calf or thigh...they are intelligent which makes them more dangerous.
Labs,Rottwiellers,Dobermans are more likely to attack straight on and they will bite at any extremity..arms legs...other bits.

I tend to find that any dog can go for you, my personal nemesis is the Standard Poodle (effing thing is bigger than me ) but you have to remember about Collies, is they are bred to defend/protect their flock and that is just what they're doing to us, protecting their owners/home from us invaders (don't blame the dog because it is really the breed).
