I was on a second walk, which i was asked to do to cover a sickness. One grumpy bloke started shouting about why his mail was late. I ignored him. I heard him say, 'ok, Ill get one of my dogs on to you then!' He returned with a bull terrier at the door. I did not take any risks because Ive been bitten before. Thing was I did not have any mail for him. In fact he was the only door with no mail! Sarcasm aside, its not nice to threaten a postie with a dog is it. If reported would RM contact him and he would have to collect his mail from the office? Also would abusive or threatening customers be treated the same as well? Ive met a few, who demand their mail if they see you on the street and get abusive if you dont hand it over pronto. I tell them I'm only allowed to post it thru letter boxes, which get them irate

Follow through on an offical complain against that pillock! Threatening posties like that is not on, even if it was just an idol threat that he did not intend to carry out.

This is my pet hate, Peopel who act hard only because they got a big dog, make an official compliant, don't forget to tell the Rep as well, get it recorded, your health and safety is more important than RM's priorities, in fact it goes before everything else, is it safe to walkout of the Office in the first place etc remember the Manager is responsible for you.

I'd make an official complaint about it too. I made a complaint about an abusive customer, informed the security helpdesk and everything to let them know about the incident and the customer was fined etc through the courts. I did have to go make a statement at the police station though.

A walk I was on a couple of years ago had a vicious cat on it that managed to draw blood from me three times (the letterbox was at ankle height, and as soon as I opened the flap the paw and claws came out through the flap faster than I could whip my hand away). The customer thought it was all very amusing, until I got the lino on the case, who went and spoke to them, telling them that they had to get it sorted or their mail would no longer be delivered. I didn't have any trouble with it after that.

Last week I told my manager who despite everyone else going "Oh my God!" shrugged and told me to call the Police. Easier said than done... what do I say and will anything actually get done. Last time I called the police (non RM reason) they appeared annoyed and told me to call another non emergency number.

I realise I'm a female and perhaps the thought of a bloke being threatening and abusive a female seems more important than to a bloke, but they should both be treated in exactly the same way.

Unfortunately, my complaint was initially made in RM time as it was from the callers office but then I had to go to the station after work to make a statement.

We had one scumbag who came in and made a serious threat to a female counter staff who reported it straight to the dom. The dom phoned the police and they had a car waiting on his doorstep before he walked home. All he said was "how did she know where i lived" when he had come in to complain about missed delivered mail, dumb arse !

Yeah, this guy had given me his P739, or should I say, thrown it at me, and then proceeded to be a very nasty person indeed.

It cost him £185 in court costs.... of which I, the complainant, received nothing?! lol They fined him and kept the money.

Our knob got a police caution and his delivery suspended, so guess what he did ? , sent his mum down each day to pick up his post and he was about 40 years old
