Disaster in Livingston

Today was the first day of our revision, and it would be putting it mildly to say that it did not go well. It would be safe to say that a large number of people in Livingston will not be getting their mail today, and will be lucky if they get any this week.

There were a few bulk postings today, as well as a flood of packets, and I'm sure we are supposed to get more sequenced items than we did, does anyone know what percentage of our mail is supposed to be walk sequenced?

But today, every single one of us brought back at least two hours worth of mail, and loads of packets!

Management are calling this "teething troubles" but I just cant see it working, the walks are too big, simple as!

I wanted to ask if any of the revisions in the other offices has gone to plan.

it was a mess today alloria, but when we got a vote, only 19 voted no and 69 voted yes.

big backlog of mail at our depot.walks to big plus pkts and specials for driver to stop delivering letters and go and do. taking back 2 pouches every day as wont do o/t to cover management cock ups.add to that dont get home till 3pm on sat. now.

If you have got loads of tenements or multi occupied addresses for example 18 A somewhere avenue or 18 ground left somewhere avenue ,then apparently the WSM cant only read the 18 and not the A or the ground left part,therefore additional sorting needs to be done by the duty holder at the prep frame and of course additional time should be built into the duty or office hours.

Thats what my AR tells me but how much time we get for the additional sorting and how that time is calculated
has yet to be explained,i expect a belated LTB from Mr Gibson this time next year will clear it up.

No tenaments Livingston is a new town.
We've been getting some WSM for over a year now, we were told that for this revision it would be 85% starting today. It wasn't, just the same small amount we've had for a while.

dundee east told also to be ready for 09 50, regardless of whats in the frame,
our day is 07 12 start, on ips til 08 12, then prep all mail til 09 00, then break til 09 20, then redirections, duds, door to door, packet bag etc, no time for d to d, so we tie up for 09 50, and we only manage one delivery and a row on second walk, its chaos, other offices sort our mail, its crazy!
