Apparently it is being looked into!
Oh goody, more to do. It's getting near 9 hours a day as it is, and that is without cutting off for 1pm SD's. No break and running around like a blue ars*d fly.

Last year sometime the Courier ran a "how do you keep your bands tidy on delivery" thingy for a few issues ----- posties actually wrote in with their clever ideas - --but thereagain maybe these goody posties are made-up. I can`t believe real posties would.....

No....these people are all the imaginary friends of Mark Higson.
That's all he does all day...makes up imaginary back stories for Paul the Postie from Peterborough and his amazing idea to save the company a fortune in boot leather by having us deliver hopping on one foot.
It's sad really but care in the community is the way forward and we all have to do our bit.

With a bit of luck they'll be taking more on, or making part timers full time, rather than finishing thousands. More work is better is it not?

Courier is rubbish paper. Many times I have wrote to them and they refuse the letters. if its positive it will go in, any thing where its non positive gets the boot..

why cant walking posties take tracked items they could redesign the label like a signed for with a peelable barcode and the postie could write delivered or not delivered simple its like some conspiracy to get every packet on the driver

I have it on reasonably good authority that the tracked delivery will take the place of SD and recorded - there will be a variety of options, insured, timed, signature or not each with a different price...............for once it actually makes sense and then of course it does leave the door ajar for price over distance for tracked items...................I do believe it will come in but I don't know when.

I can't say that I've used them in day in day out but I found them O.K if a bit bulky then again I know that others have had major problems.

Well we're heading that way we are only 16 short of one for each man - we currently have 70+...............there is supposed to be a lightweight one for walking posties but I haven't seen one yet...........has anybody seen one?

No, but its had to imagine that they'll need to be much larger than a mobile phone. Might not even need a scanner just a Blackberry type keyboard then you just tap in the barcode and 'send'. I've seen an iPhone credit card app that even allows the customer to sign. Not that RM will stump up an iPhone 4 for all posties
