Lost Special??
Lost a special delivery . What will they do to me , never done anything before and my records clear. What am i looking at?? Willm it just be a telling off/counciling??

Are you sure you lost it? Or did you just post it by mistake ? Chances are if you posted it in error to the correct address customer probably wont know any different (SDs dont have sign for written on them )
Penalties can vary from office to office ive seen some people get a slap on the wrist at one office and a years serious at another , you will only get found out if the customer complains

Dont panic,you are not the only one to have donr this.
First inform your manager,and the locker.
Did you post the letter through this is the most common cause,did you 739 it
or do you honestly not know what happened to it,and have you double checked and confirmed you have definatley lost it?
In most cases you will have posted it it through,and if someone comes in for the 739 and it explained to them they have had it
normaly except it.
If you have your bag stolen or the customer complains you are looking at a final watning of around 1 year ,wich means if you commit the same mistake again in a year your job could be on the line.
Chances are the customer wont complain and therefore nothing will happen to you,if after a week you have not heard anything you have gotten away with it.Speak to the CWU rep as soon as possible.Good luck ,but most people with any service have lost 1 or something similar.

First thing is dont worry mate, happens to the best of us. As long as your slates clean you will be ok. Happened to me a few years back but nothing came of it. Customer didnt complain so i must have just boxed it by mistake. Probably same as you.

Be careful when dealing with specials,a few years ago a fellow postie signed for one and posted it to the correct address.It turns out that the person who sent it had wrote down the wrong number.Person(who the special was meant to go to) compalined that they never received special del,Manager pulls postie in and grills him,facing sack etc...
Person who complained brought in the receipt that went with the special,so manager going mental.
Day of discipline meeting for postie,gets cancelled because the letter gets to the correct address because the person(who received it) took it to the person who compalined and said this is for you.
So never sign for a special......
