Seniority on interim re-sign
I am wondering if you can help me out on this. Our division is to go live with the van-sharing implementation on Monday week and currently we are going through an interim re-sign. Seniority sheets were distributed amongst staff last week with a list of names in chronological order on who held most seniority. I had a meeting with my manager today where he told me that I would be losing 2 years of my seniority as I took a 3 year career break (I went to uni). However, during the time of the summer recess of university throughout my break I received a wage letter from RM (most of the time the wage equalled zero) and every year from late May to late September I returned to RM to get my full-time wage and even in July 2005 I received my 10 year service award. Therefore, I am wondering if my manager can do this, even though he says he can as 'it is laid out in the way forward agreement'. If so then there is very little I can do about the situation or on the other hand, are we still adhering to this ten year old agreement or has another agreement superceded it? I am hoping you can advise on this as there are only several days left before the duties are finalised

Yes,it doesn't matter how old it is and if it's in there it is in stone unless another agreement amends it which to my knowledge it hasn't...are we still adhering to this ten year old agreement

I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
