Goodwill!

Post by bunkerland »

Ah,a nostalgic trip down memory lane, remember the days when your whole office used to pull together whenever required to make sure that the customers always got their mail, remember the days when you didn't mind doing those "little extras" even if a little inconvenient to yourself.

Those days are well gone for me now,you can call me twisted but i can't help feeling a lovely warm glow of satisfaction when i see things going tits up in my office. Too many years of being taken for granted and our goodwill going unappreciated and in most cases ignored.

For me,and it's just my own personal favorite,is when i see the manager frantically searching for volunteers to cover uncovered duties,he's already exhausted his little diary of saviours and now has taken to the floor desperately fleeting from desk to desk looking for someone, anyone,to help cover up the fact that Royal Mail has completely f****d this job up.

When he reaches me,all doe eyed i can feel an extra skip of my heart(remembers the days i would always "help out",through some sort of misguided loyalty i think, lessons been learnt now though) "Fancy some overtime?" is his call,i always try to just hesitate long enough to see the hope light up his eyes,"mmmmmm,eh,let me think let me think,oh no sorry can't today." Cue warm glow of satisfaction spreading through body,it's a great feeling that keeps me going on the coldest of mornings. :Very Happy :nana :Very Happy :nana :Very Happy :nana

No matter what office you come from its always the same scenario with the dom asking everyone "fancy some overtime". Its only when you say no the dom gets grumpy, annoyed and asks you once more...and again...and again...its gets beyond a joke when they can't understand the word NO but keep on pushing the boat out untill you crack.

I agree with the fact that would you go that extra mile these days to help out your dom or even the customer, but walking to many extra miles has made everyone knackered and to be perfectly honest can't be arsed!

:nana Payback time :nana

I lost the counts of times I have done favours, put myself out, only to find I have been stabbed in the back, refusal to pay docket, feigning ignorance of any deals made, promising the O/T walk will be thrown in when I come round to do it when it isn't :evil/mad
