just to let you know, my partner and i finished at 3:54! thats 1h 20m over our finish time (inc. m/r). we decided to go over just to prove to the management numpties what we've said all along, that the walks are too big. i know some in the office cut off but a lot did the same as us, hoping against hope that the managers will take note. anyway i can assure you off one thing, that was a one off and from now on it's cut off time but this is the best part, today's mail wasn't that bad. i can't wait for when it gets really busy

Just wondered, it's mad how it's gone from one extreme to the other so quickly. People on my round talk about seeing the postie, when they were (edit:) younger, coming down the street before dawn as they were on their own way to work. Now, the postman will be coming down the street as people are coming home from work. I don't personally consider it progress. There's something pleasantly uplifting and reassuring about seeing the postman up early, getting the job done.

I meant when they were younger as opposed to when they were little - even I'm not perfect. Anyways, there are lots of real old-timers on my present round who like to have a chat. They like having a go at RM whilst expressing sympathy for the poor downtrodden postie, which suits me just fine.
