A question if anyone has the answer. At the present we have 2 drivers in our office after the revision it is planned we will have only 1.1st driver has 25 years as a postman of which 20 years as a driver. 2nd driver has 24 years as a postman 22 years as a driver. one is claiming grandfather rights as a driver but who has seniority the person who has been emplyed by royal mail for longer or the person who has been a driver for longer?

The person employed the longest.
And WHY isn't both drivers getting the allowance.
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

I believe it allowances then seniority ....

If they are both getting pensionable allowances,whoever has been receiving the allowances the longest gets the job,if neither receives allowances the most senior gets the job.Did you receive my PM.

Not necessarily true Roger... Under the new agreement, they could argue 'suitability'. Up to the rep to kick that one into touch (worst scenario, grievance procedure).

If both drivers were getting an allowance,then according to the MTSF the person who was receiving the allowance the longest would get the job even if it conflicts with any other agreement.The MTSF overides all other resourcing agreements.
