Due to go live from monday with van sharing, currently on 20hr contract 4 hrs a day (waysider duty), its taken until this week to ask me what hours i can do
Told dom and rep that due to school run can't do much more than i do now (10-2), 1 of the problems being the change from job & finish on the street to everybody having to go back to d/o to which the dom asked can't just the driver return allowing me more time for delivery, to which the rep said a resounding no when i asked why was told its a health and safety issue.
Can somebody explain the difference in h&s this week to next week and are there any offices out there who have done the revision and still do job and finish.
p.s i live 7-8 miles from office but my walk at the moment is close to where i live

Um - At the moment you work by yourself - next week you'll be working in a team of two.
I understand where your coming from but if you finish on the round then your driver will be left to do the end of shift stuff by himself so you'll be finishing earlier than them every day that hardly seems fair as you both should be paid to the same time.

Of course i understand this and under normal circumstances then yes everybody should be treated the same but at the moment just looking for a way to be able to continue being out on delivery as they have made it impossible for me to do this.

nor does it seem fair that they have made the earliest finish @ 2:48 knowing that i have to get home for 3 to collect my son

you may want to make a request under family frendly provisions.
ps.job and finish was supposed to be ended in 2007!
Job and finish is alive and well. Started van sharing just over a year ago, lasted four weeks cut offs every day parcels left for weeks, mailsort and down stream access mail not delivered (ah those were the days) then went back to everyone for themselves. TOTAL F#CKUP

To answer your question, on the H&S it's your employers duty to make sure you're back to the unit safe and well after your walk and not laid up in some ditch out on your walk feeling unwell/ accident etc

Fair point but the question in my post asked what is the difference between this week and next week at the moment we finish after pouching off, or have royal mail suddenly developed a conscience and have our best interest at heart after all
