we are going live in a couple of weeks, and i would just like to know if we get a vote on the new duties.the rep said he dosnt think so ,the dom said if the rep dosnt sign it off he will (can he do this).i remember in wtl something about a six stage process and stage four being agreement ,so whats that about ? will be grateful for any info

Not 100% on this but your rep may have signed of stage 4 without balloting you's, and now your manager will be able to press ahead without you's ever being balloted. oops!

Maybe better to grill your area rep. If your reps signed it off without balloting you's at stage 4 he maybe didn't know, that RM could do the last 2 stages on their own. your area rep should have made sure this didn't happen.

My personal preference is for paper ballots with ballot box taking place whilst Im on leave so the more parnoid mbrs cant accuse me of knobbling the ballot.

Thats very interesting ,we are bieng told by rep that he doesnt have a say and if he doesnt sign,it will be brought in through the framework ,whatever that means.would i be right in saying thats executive action and against the spirt of agreement??

Yes, at no point did 2010 say local ballots were being abolished.

I wouldnt touch a revision with a barge poll if local ballots were abolished for major change revisons. The hassle from mbrs even with a democratic ballot in place is more than enough.

Thanks for the reply bd.one section of our office going live tomorrow.ours is the next week.we have had an input.But we have told rep in no uncertain terms that the duties they have came up with are total unacceptable.he said they are still bringing it in.there are all sorts of serious isues but no answers.

Bringing in a revison is agreed at national level, the exact content of the revision is to be agreed at local level and endorsed by the local mbrs in the same way national agreements were reached at national level and then endorsed by the national membership.
