Injury at work and putting in a claim

Last winter after xmas when the weather was really bad and every flat surface was covered with ice I was out on delivery and slipped down some concrete steps. I had to go to A & E and was off work for a couple of weeks. At the time I didn't put in a claim as I felt awkward about it, silly I know!! It's just that the injuries I sustained in the accident still cause me a reasonable amount of pain now and again. Is it too late to put in a claim? Any information will be appreciated! Thanks!

No its not too late:

How long after your injury at work do you have to start your claim for compensation?

In the UK the law allows you three years from the date of your accident at work to start your compensation which is the same time period for most types of accident claim.

For me i would say the CWU every time as they understand the RM procedure better than a independent.

you should go to the department of work and pensions and register it as an industrial injury.They will send you to see there doctor and if it is judged to have given you a disability of 15% or more you will be entitled to a weekly benefit .(think its about £28)

I did that and it was recorded as an industrial injury...
