How does that work?...you only lapse if you've got time to do it...how can you have set days to lapse?...am i missing something or just losing it?

Our office we lapse 1 duty all the time everyday between 8 of us,the list is put up on monday we all do it twice a week apart from them who work their day off for free so they dont have to lapse for 3 weeks is this not how every office works.If there is someone on sick we lapse 4 times a week,before our own duty.

same in my office, we have been doing the same lapsing duty for the last few months, monday to friday! And we've done lapsing every week since it came in last year, apart from last xmas. We are going live with the park and loop next week, can't wait!!

WOW. Am I missing something here. People are working their day off for free so they don't lapse. For 1, lapsing should be done in RM time only,so you do it only if you have time. And working your day off for free, never happen to me yet and will never. Your manager is a CROOK, and, by the way, all work should be paisd for, including when you work for RM.

How can anyone fall for being tricked into working a day for free?
This should stop immediatlely and you should ask that some compensation be paid or days given in lieu.

Thank f**k - thats madness

so you give up one day off to work free - even if that is delivery only it still does not work to my mind.

4 hours walking/outdoor for free and you get back 2 x 3 lapses to even gain anything you'd have to have lapsing of 30 minutes each time -thats based on delivery only if its prep its even worse -

6 hours prep and duty - means at least an hour lapsing - both figure are at least double what we used to lapse WHEN WE HAD SUFFICIENT TIME.

Erm .................let me think................phew...........hard one that...................no.

The idea was that lapsing would be carried out when time permitted by local agreement on an as and when basis.................yes great idea................except whose rep had the time to sit down on a daily basis and decide which rounds would be lapsed? The obvious answer is to agree a certain level and lapse the lapsing if you can't manage it....................which then puts the pressure on the postman to say he cannot do the lapsing
