Streamlining mail??

Post by madelin4 »

2 day with 2 days mail, we at our office were told we cud streamline the mail, i.e . not take out m/s and 2nd, so therefore once its all preped in2 frame we look when pulling out and leave it. Now, 2day i done just that, was getting my first letter in at 9.30am, got last letter in at 12.45am, so by time i got back to office i was 25 mins over my time and only had 5 mins break as i had a special to get back for 1pm, no credit on my mobile. My prob is they expect you to streamline the whole duty and not go over your time? as they are not paying o/t. Is this just the start of us "Working for Free!!!! if everyone in office is 15 or 20 mins over it adds up and they are saving again!!Makes me mad. :mad :mad

Our lorry arrived 1.5 hrs late so

1 - We were told to sort the mail when it came in
2 - Then we were told that the mail would not have to be delivered
3 - Then we were told that we had to take out everything
4 - Then we were told that only the code sorted trays to be delivered
5 - Then we were told that if we were going to be over 30mins late then we could streamline the mail
6 - Then we were told that we had to sort mail for 15mins

I personally think that our DUM is going to explode if he gets any more stressed :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana

You have a cutting off time, stick to that & you won't go over or only have five minutes break.

That,s how they are playing it in my DO - really light today but we worked as per agreements and came of IPS when we should bundled up when we should etc. All you could hear on the floor was the sound of Managers biting their tongues. Class. Lightest Saturday in a while and made sure finished exactly on time

Same in my DO. Gaffers are terrified of cut-offs so very little mail and no mailsort to be seen. Only thing that was slightly heavy were packets. Also heard that gaffers are working in Edinburgh mail centre tomorrow, so expect a big Monday.

We were then told not to thrown in sat's mailsort but every thing else we had sorted, but somehow sat's ppi 2's ended up in fridays ppi2's :hmmmm
You with me on this!
Also bout 6 yorks and 6 koffins of other work went untouched, even mech bundles with dated stuff in

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
