Union meeting place

Can you have a union meeting at work, either before,during or after work? If not, why not?. Surely it benefits everyone as more people can attend. Dont like the idea of having a meeting in a pub as after a couple of pints everyone becomes loud and things just dont get sorted.

I had a meeting for members last week after WTLL. It was agreed by the manager, best time for us as pub meetings don't seem to work, previous reps had little success at getting people to attend. However, we are small office so what works for us might not work for you

We have around 100 staff and maybe 80 members at a guess. Is that alot bigger than yours?

If it's a problem the DIM wants sorted he'll let you use the Rest Room/Canteen. If it's something he doesn't like the looks of (i.e the last round of industrial action) then you have to have a "Gate" meeting i.e Outside the gate and off RM property.

yes, we have about 40 staff with 96% membership and obviously not all are there at once, usually about 20 in one go
