Buying down of hours

Well, learnt over the weekend, that those people that bought their hours down for as much as £9,000 depending on reduction, when the new revision comes in on 8th nov..ah, ah! and we go to a seniority repick of duties, these people can if they wish ,choose a 39 hour duty i.e go back to full time working or raise their hours depending on duty they choose. Where's the fairness there then, i am full time but i feel these people should not be able to pick these duties which in turn should give now p/t staff more chance of raising their hours. We can't voice our objections as our d.o.m & cwu rep just come up with ridiculous jargon. Should this be allowed.

Personally I don't think it is right, especially if within 2 years of the buy down.
Own personal view is FT jobs should to PTs who may have waited years for the chance of FT, not someone who sold their FT job for a few pieces of silver.
But after saying that I don't believe their is anything in the rules which say this can't happen.

How the hell can it be right? That's like taking a redundancy package and then coming back to work for the same company in your old job 2 years later? Insanity.

It may be legal(though i sincerely hope not)but what it is is immoral but does that come as any great surprise coming from RM ,if the union signed an agreement allowing this they should be ashamed of themselves.....i hope they have'nt but i would'nt hold my breath

after further thought on this matter i think it only fair that i should be allowed to work p/t for 2 years on full time wages to bring me in line with the people that bought their hours down and now goner reap the rewards of going back to full time, ah, ah, i can just see my bombastic, ignorant, d.o.m's face and union rep as far as that goes, ah, but seriously some one must know if this is allowed or not p/t staff in my office are livid and i can honestly say i feel for them as they have every right to be

Those who buy down can go back up if they wish,if it's before 2 years they have to pay some of their money back if after 2 years they have to pay back nothing.

I would of thought seniority would gauge what is got in a resign,regardless of whether you've previously had a buy down or not.

Legally it can be done,morally..............now that's another thing.
