Best Practice Revision

Can anyone help me out here? We are not having a full revision at our DO, just a best practice revision, was this option in the 2010 & Beyond Agreement or is this something which has happened because there are not enough planners to go around?

Well I have read most things but that's a new one on me - at least as a revision process - in order to be used as a revision process there must be somewhere that practices are used as the criteria................... so if that is the case you'd need chapter and verse as to what these practices are.

doing best practice revision in our office at moment and basically its a geo-route revision taking into account the supposedly 3 and half hour delivery span and using all the parameters of the indoor work load tool and wait for it heres the punch line because its not a new delivery methods revision all people who currently use there cars will still be allowed to and thats from management and union ,talk about cutting your own throats and yes these people will still carry on doing it.

With this revision are any of your offices getting 1 in 4 Sat or 39hr week? We have been told we will get nothing other than the £200 bonus it will trigger, naturally staff are unhappy. Working on it though,

WHY ? Agree to longer del spans with no weight off the shoulder solutions(ie cdv).

Yes it does bring longer spans, what has happened is that D.O's like mine were required to "tweak" outdoor work to take account of IWT figures. However IWT figures mean not just teaking but a full blown desktop revision.

Dels are now mainly low 500's in terms of calls.

Were bike dels for our urban areas so no weight on shoulder issues.

See it just goes to show that some areas are talking 900 - 1000 drops and you're talking 500s - exactly how long would an urban delivery of such a low figure take? Are you going to get away with this until 2012? I could deliver a 100 calls every 30 minutes on an urban estate of garden fronted gated semis/detached- that would take 2 and a half hours for 500 calls

No more than 4 hours assuming that is that all current routes are within 3.5 hours.

Current routes which are pegasus designed were done on a 3 hour 15 min basis with 88% call rate.

Weve got 9 X 9 day fortnight duties which consist of 6 dels, 2 floaters and a reserve

Also a set of rotating day off duties going in.

9 day fortnights are proving very contentious.
