Is it just my D.O or has the CWU a poor sytem in place for keeping accurate membership records?

Ive got OPG's who stopped paying subs months ago but still show up on the membership list everytime I request one.

I had two hand me back their ballot papers for the local revision vote informing me that they were no longer members but the records supplied to me dont show that.

Also a handfull of ex members reappeared on the membership list I was sent even though they had not rejoined.

Your right Daz...the records are way out of date...i hope HQ aren't relying on branch figures for an overall membership count. :nervous

They shouldn't be out of date,didn't this get sorted for our latest strike ballot because of previous cock ups?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

:crazy: It Was supposed to be fixed out. As was the case of people who are in the union who do not receive papers.

It's up to the Branch Organiser in each CWU Branch to notify the CWU Organising Dept at HQ of changes in membership -
including address changes, people leaving RM, or leaving the CWU, or changing workplaces or CWU Branches.
RM could supply these details to the CWU, but AFAIK they don't.
Of course that means they can make a legal challenge to ballot results on the grounds that accurate records of members
have not been used.

But HQ membership records section would see that subs have stopped and therefore after a few weeks delete that person from the data base.

That usually works, but it isnt any more for records for my D.O :hmmmm
