Cat shoes probable cause of foot problems

I started about 2 years and 3 months ago and always wore my trainers to do my walk. Dom was always saying I had to wear RM footwear but I got away with it for about 14 months, absolutely no problems.
Started wearing the Cats ordered for me just over a year ago and have since developed arthritis in both my feet and now callouses are starting to form on the soles of my feet. Has meant all sorts of probs for me with referalls to ATOS and distinct slowing down for me while out on duty.
Interestingly, yesterday I had my trainers in my car with me and after losing an argument with a big puddle changed into them. Immediate relief, able to move around with about a 90% decrease in pain,almost to the point of jogging, I actually felt 10 years younger (well, 2 years really,taking me back to almost pain free deliveries again).
If I knew it was worth suing them beleive me, I would. I cannot beleive that with good supporting footwear I could have probably staved off the problems I have now for........... who knows.

Is there enough space in the Cats to install a set of shock absorbing insoles? Was given some last Xmas, really helped me feet!

I'm currently "bedding in" a set of new Cat boots, after my trainers' heels were descimated after ~5 months use, due to my bow legs and putting pressure on the outside of my feet. The trainers gave me massive blisters when new, so decided to risk going a size down for the boots, but these are quite "pointy." Going to try stuffing something inside them to try and stretch them a fraction, but part of me wonders about just requesting the next size up (albeit I can forsee blisters, as the length of boots isn't that bad).

Its at times like these I wonder why RM footwear has to come from Sheffield every time... Why cannot each depot keep a range of sizes of each official footwear type? We could than try various models and sizes to find the ones that actually fit our own feet shape properly, which then results in RM ordering a replacement model/size back into their stock.

I must've stood on something one day and the top of my foot started really hurting. After a couple of weeks I went to see the nurse at the GP surgery who thought it may of been arthritis in my big toe joint, told me to take Ibuprofen. Instead I decided to get a new pair of trainers(Asics) for work, black with a bit of yellow on them so the thick lineos did'nt notice Since then I've had no pain at all in my foot so YES I think the CAT shoes are causing a lot of foot problems.

im on my 2nd pair of cats and i dont think they are up to it
this pair are under 2 months old and my feet are starting to hurt on delivery and then into the next day

i wore my Cat trainers yesterday 'cos my Mags' were soaked,big mistake,massive blister on one heel,ggggggrrrrrrrrrr,back to Mags' for me,boots & shoes for the winter,get me some heel cushions for the Cats in summer methinks

well, whilst I haven't actually got any shoes from RM at the minute due to their inability to stock my size - I can say that I found cat shoes to be fantastic to begin with, but after about 4 months, noticed they were causing me severe pains in my hips and knees. Since wearing running trainers similar to stormproof by the sound of it, no problems at all.

To be honest, I think none of the footwear provided is actually up to the job, certainly not if they expect shoes and boots to last between 1/2 years for people.

never worn the Cat shoes so I can't comment on them but I know that the Magnums are ok if you wear orthopedic insoles and replace them after 3/4 months (shoes and insoles).

I am so glad that someone has bought this up,most of us has had problems with cat footwear,some of us have heel problems most painfull condition going,loads of us have so much room in them you could invite someone else into wear them with you which causes you to scrunch your toes to stop the movement of your feet in the footwear,so many of us have gone back to wearing our own trainers or boots.Alot of staff have also said that they have hard skin and blisters all kinds of knee and lower back problems to.

Ive have no problem with either cat boots or shoes, but then again im on a rural van delivery so i wouldnt be doing the walking you town ones would be!

Where can you get orthopedic insoles from? I've no problems at present but it's better to be pro-active with your health than to wait for problems to occur.

I have noticed Ive had bad knees for the last couple of months and just put it down to getting older :( and the mail getting heavier (im talking about weight on your back not number of items) but after reading this I think it might be down to my cat shoes. I've had no problems with bad knees with the other shoes only since ive worn the cat. I didnt wear them for a few days because they got soaked in the rain so wore my own black trainers and my knees haven't been playing me up anywhere near as much as they do when I've been wearing the cat shoes. I have to order some new shoes because the soles on them are worn out after about 4 months and I am now thinking of getting the magnum shoes or maybe some Dr Martin's does anyone know if we're still able to order those? I know they hurt like a b***h at first until you break them in but after breaking them in they are very comfy.

My Cat shoes are now only used for walking the dog over the fields ! I used them for work for 3 weeks, result ? aching knees and shins, used my nike trainers in the summer, back to my old magnums now for winter, but no aches and pains since ditching the Cats at work. I thought it was only me having problems as a lot of the guys at work wear them with no problem, so it was good to see this thread.
