D2D's at Xmas...?

I asked my DOM today if Part Timers will be getting the full supplement of £20 whatever when Xmas comes around and we have to make up our D2D's rather than the Full Timer, he says NO that's what we will be paid O/T for, but surely O/T is for the Christmas Pressure as it has been every year or are the P/T 'ers getting robbed again? Any Reps able to shed some light on the matter.

The £20 is nothing to do with D2D it's a delivery supliment based on your contracted hours. If you work 40 hours you get the maximum amount because your contract is for the maximum hours if you're part time you get part of the delivery supliment because you're contract is for part of the maximum hours. It's nothing to do with the type of work you do it's the number of hours you do.

If it literally was based on the hours done, it would not be so bad, as I suspect many PT staff would then get ~75% of the supplement (£15). Another great deal agreed as part of the settlement that stopped industial action, almost a year to the day!

I'm just glad the CWU "won" for me the right to deliver mind-numbing shyte like D2Ds over the whole of the busiest period of the year for posties, XMAS!!!! And NOT get paid for the dubious privelage!!!!!

So basically come Xmas time it'd be fair to get the F/T to still make up our D2D's as he'll be saving an unbelievable amount of time as we do IPS, then prep a busier duty?? Or mibbae F**K em don't really need the O/T then think i'll just work my contracted hours when it comes around..!

I (25hr part time) always have to prep my own D2D anyway, and regularly have to prep my flats as well, so go over time most Wed/Thurs/Fri which I claim for. On the occasional time I don't want to go over, I leave my last bag for someone else to do.

at christmas ..2.. 16 kg bags... one on each shoulder ..and 5 lots of d2ds balanced on your head in a box...and off you go ..sorted

You forgot to mention if you are on a bike duty (assuming we are still allowed them by our overlords come Xmas) then you can also hang a carrier bag of each handlebar with d2d's and other assorted bumf. In fact, I have actually seen people do that in some offices. Of course managers turn a blind eye to it as they know the alternative is more bags and more OT. Funny how health and safety only applies when being used as a stick to beat the workforce with.

No you should get Tuesday 28th December off to as Boxing day falls on the Sunday
