FULL BUNDLE REVISION DOES IT WORK
my office is going into a full buddle revision in just over a week however we have refused to sign off phase 4 ,5,6 because we fill the terrain and length of walks is unrealistick and the prep speeds will leave are workers open to harasment over not meeting performance standards these times we know are national agreed times with cwu and royal mail but we will stand firm and not sign off . is there any office that has gone ahead with it and times worked out ok or are we the first.

Welcome, will move this to the 2010 forum.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

We are in the same position as you postman8.
We due to be going live on 8th Nov.
We feel it is no ready to go, terrain issue, H&S issues, no risk assessments done, like your office we are not letting our rep sign up to phase 4 onwards..
Got told today it WILL be coming in, even by exec action.

ex action = breaking agreement thus providing enablers to reintroduce strike action

Fish, why is stalling the revision to make sure that the agreement is applied by Royal Mail in its entirety got anything to do with breaking the agreement enabling Royal mail to reintroduce executive action.

Re: FULL BUNDLE REVISION DOES IT WORK
6 Phase process allows for consultion and engagement with the staff. If you can prove that RM have not followed the process that is not stalling....However if they have done everything that is asked of them in the process in terms of staff 1 to 1's , engagement , WTLL sessions , accurate data gathering , then there is very little wriggle room for reps to avoid signing off the revision. If reps are unhappy signing they can get the Area rep to sign it off but likely he will not have a good a working knowledge of the office as the local rep and it looks a bit like the old Pontius Pilot 'hand washing' if you get the area rep to sign it off. The pace of deployment is still not going quick enough for RM and I have heard rumours of deployment dates in December which smacks of desperation. If the 6 phase process has been followed by RM you will get very little room to stall. You better just hope that the poor overworked DOM or lazy planner have forgotten to tick a box somewher otherwise its coming to DO near you sooner than you think.

Re: FULL BUNDLE REVISION DOES IT WORK
Because one man's stalling the revision to make sure that the agreement is applied by Royal Mail in its entirety is another man's...well just stalling....the pressure is already ramping up to get these revisions in before Christmas...one way or another.Lincox wrote:Fish, why is stalling the revision to make sure that the agreement is applied by Royal Mail in its entirety got anything to do with breaking the agreement enabling Royal mail to reintroduce executive action.
That is a double edged sword which applies equally to both sides. Both parties are fully committed to all elements of this national agreement and neither will sanction any local negotiations which seek to change the principles or spirit of this agreement and/or make their deployment less effective and/or delay implementation.

Yeah, tested a round at 6.15, was declared a success by management and planner and will be implemented as it stands.Plus any office had one round tested. All we've had is someone doing a street
Also identified a number of health and safety risks, nonsensical uphill struggles on another tested duty, nothing has been changed, it will be implemented as it stands.

Re: FULL BUNDLE REVISION DOES IT WORK
Due to be having a ballot of members in the office tomorrow to see if we want the agreement signed.
The Divisional rep is rumoured to be signing off the revision
, as our local rep has refused to sign...the AREA rep has done his best to persuade us into agreeing it to be signed, but he won't sign it if our ballot returns a no...he has been very very keen in meetings to get us to agree it...
CWU rep and dep rep/H&S rep have brought up a number of valid points about welfare concerns, fatigue concerns (which we've been told isn't an issue, but RM's OWN documents state that fatigue, and welfare facilities are issues for consideration. Also the fact that no risk assesssments have been done pprior to implementation (isn't that illegal?). We keep being told that these are not valid reasons for refusing to sign, and until we can come up with a valid reason (a criticism of the mapping or the IWT's), we will have to sign it.
Not looking good anyway, due to be implemented on the 8th, next Monday, we have no vans yet, the frames are not done, no-one really knows what they will be doing.
I reckon you might be right postman8, it's not in yet, never say die!

I would imagine that's unlikely mailmonkey.mailmonkey wrote: The Divisional rep is rumoured to be signing off the revision
How can a divisional rep sign of a local agreement against the wishes of the local members?
That would be executive action.....by the union....it would be time for the pitchforks and torches.
