which is better ? delivery, MCs or Network driving ?

So guys which do you think is better ?

I have done all three and I do have my opinion of them, they all have their ups and downsides, sometimes the grass looks greener if you haven't been on the otherside.

I would like to know what every body thinks if they have done all three ?

I've done mail centre and walks, i'm on walks i'd probably say mail centre but if i was still in the mail centre, probably walks. I think the job just completely **** now. It doesn't matter were you are. You either become like a "zoo animal" walking around in circles doing the same thing in the mail centre. Or you become a "circle animal" trying to do things in halve the time allocated.
On the walks how many times do you get the lino going i'd complete the walk in xxxx time and you just laugh and tell them to take a reality check. The job sucks everywhere.

Done all three, they have their upsides and downsides,

Mail Centres can be easy enough but its mind numbing and boring, like being in a goldfish bowl, all new jobs created in Mail Centres are now 20 hour contracts, anyone expecting to transfer full time will be in for a long wait.

Network driving, Tachos and hours sucks, if you get it wrong, its YOU who will have to take the flak, not RM, if you have a bump it forms part of your driving history with your insurance company, getting stuck in traffic or finding a place you don't know can be frustrating.

Delivery can be physically demanding, but you do get a certain level of freedom, lower level of responsibility compared to driving, but overtime is few and you have to fight for it, this is where the most stress are, Managers try to intimidate you, surrounded by numpties, van share its going to be so much fun .....not


I think all in all, at least in Delivery you are on earlies as night shifts have gone, in MC and Networks, if you are spare you could get bounced around on different shifts, I have done all three, I have decided to make my peace with delivery and just crack on, doing my job just exactly according to the book.

I spent 2 years working in a Mail Centre as a packet sorter surrounded by brain dead freaks and mongs! Some of the people were nice but I always got stuck working with lazy slow numpties who stood around talking all afternoon/evening and would moan if they didn't get to go an hour early every night. Being on delivery is a lot better even thought the work is much harder.

I have done all three enjoyed doing mail centre though ours was outward work with the little machine that the letters were put through manually and hand stamping packets lol those were the days, then I done driving on late shift for 10yrs enjoyed that also

though when done 600 driving and tacho came into it was not the same/ 7yrs back went back on delivery on a cycle
which i enjoy in parts, but not looking fwrd to HCT

I was sent to a MC for light duties when I was pregnant back in the early 90's. It was mind numbing and found many of the people 'clicky' http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=clicky. I was glad to be out of there. Deliveries are better especially when you are out of the office.
