Repick according to contracted hours?

Hi,

Our full revision is due to be coming in in next couple weeks.

we have been told that the repick will be as follows...

jobs segregated for 40hr peeps
jobs segregated for 35 hour peeps
jobs for 30 hour peeps.

And jobs for 25 hour peeps..

this is pissing me right off, I'm a 25 hour peep, with over 7 years service, but my pick will be the pick of the poo.

Shouldn't all picks be done in orde of seniority? I just get told it's not possible in our office,

Has always (since i've been there) been the case at our office. Never used to matter as we had hardly any P/T duties.
at the last re-pick it benifited the P/T big time. Part time staff with 1 years seniority were duty holders.

F/T staff with up to 6 years seniority were reserves.

All walks should be the same lenth. and picked on seniority. The difference should be full time staff do more indoor work ie throwing in walks. ip sorting than the part timers. Go to disagreement over it. Dont be walked over

I agree, but in my office we have loads of rurals, and it's not possible. The rural I do sometimes is 5 hrs.

If you are on a 25 hour contract.. then it is only logic you can only pick a 25 hour duty.

By the way...there wiil be just as much 'poo' on 40 hours as any other contract.

When we had a repick, just after I'd started 3 years ago, It went on seniority, and you got hours added to your contract if you got a duty with more than 25 hours.

I just missed out on a couple with 27.5 hours, and stayed on 25, yet I cover the duty holders days off, and have to claim the extra as overtime.

what logic is that? if the 25 hour duty is created by cutting the indoor hours from the duty then how is any walk specifically a 25 hour duy?
regardless of the walk the FT staff will have to prep the duty

our rep is a spineless c***

same thing in a way happening in our office,

except 6 pt jobs set aside,

so people with 2 years seniority get a job ahead of me with 8 FT.
