Going back to the recent story of the postie who has been sacked for leaving his van unlocked and mail being stolen....On the report it stated that he had left his van to go to help a woman who had ASKED FOR DIRECTIONS . I know from my own experience as a walking postie, the amount of times that people pull up in their cars ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD and shout to me asking for directions AND expect me to cross over to them to answer . WELL NOT ANY MORE. The last time this happened was a white van driver who shouted out of his window, trying to ignore him i just shouted back "sorry mate cant hear you, this went on and on until he got abusive and shouted "Well f..ki.. get over here then!! I replied if you would get your arse out of your seat mate etc.etc.etc. So if any members of the public get to read this , "Dont be so blo.d. lazy.
And they usually forget the "PLEAE" word. Untill I remind them of the simple word and they look at me like I am the idiot. Where all yours manners gone.
Its Bulllshit! This is my opinion on the matter. If this alleged Woman shouted him over for directions in Bury Town Centre now we all know that town centres are full off cctv cameras so if the police was called in they would have viewed the cctv cameras in the town centre and arrests would follow.
My theory is he bobbed into somewhere prior to this left the van open and later realised a bag was gone.
Then came the made up story. No way on earth this has happened in a town centre…..

Don't need an A-Z when you've got the clueless look mastered as well as the stupid sounding 'I dunno' with an especially oafish expression. They think you're a bit special, which means no hard feelings and an unearned 'thank you'.
People are nice.
I could tell them I have a phone that can give me directions by foot, car or bus to anywhere in the UK, but I don't have time. I don't HAVE TIME.
I try and help anyone who stops and because i have a school on my delivery which does functions i get floods of mums in thier blacked out window jeeps stopping all the time. Most are fine but a couple are real stressed by the time they get to me and just tear off

Knowing my luck I'd leave the van unlocked and then get run over crossing the road!
