The DIM support in our place has come up with a great plan.

Firstly the sector manager wants to move our working day 30 minutes forward.

Now this is where the DIM support comes in, he reckons we can take half an hour off of our DAY OFF and put it onto a Monday or Tuesday, which are the 2 shorter days, if your day off falls on a longer day Wed/Thur/Fri.

I cant make head nor tails of it, it makes no sense whatsoever, maybe the person that told me has missed something off.

We do a 40 hour week, they cant possibly take 30 minutes from our day off, because the we'd be doing 40 hours 30 minutes.

I've been scratching me head all day, its getting sore now.

That only works if you're on a fixed day off(long day)
If you're on a rotation it evens itself out over 6 weeks.
Remind him that he will have to give all of those with a "short" day off their time back as well.

Either your DOM or who ever told you this is a moron!

If you are on long and shorts you will on some weeks work less than 40 hours.
we work Mon, Wed - Fri 06:00 to 14:15
Tue 06:00 to 14:00 and Sat 06:00 to 13:00
If we have a Mon, Wed Thur or Friday off we only work 39hrs45min this happens. (he wants this time back) obviously we do this 4 times in a standard rotation.
If however we have a Sat off we work 41hrs that week. (ask if he's giving you the time back when that happens)

Currently we work Mon/Tues 7.55 hours, unless day off is Mon/Tues or Sat in which case it changes to 7.25. Wed/Thur/Fri we work 8.25 rigid. Saturday 7.20 rigid.

So the change due to the longer day off is already in and has been from the start.

You do realise that annual leave (and statutory redundancy pay as found out out at my previous job) are proportional to the number of days you work, NOT the number of hours?
