Oh thats the weeks i'm being quoted alright.
I thinking more along the lines of as soon as it gets busy if you can't complete then it's a performance issue.

is there an LTB on this?

the dsm is trying to through our model week out the window for our area!

he is looking for 40 hours out of our office but when model week is calculated it says add an extra 40 hours in! roll on the revision!

Sorry to be a bit of a tit and answer my own question , but i found this from geezer and apparently it's not agreed nationally.

Whilst the guidance paper is not formally agreed with us it does broadly reflect our discussions on this matter.

There is no national agreement on the model week. An LTB was issued on this a couple of months ago.

Royal Mail want to use weeks 41 - 44 and weeks 11 -17 and take the lower of these two averages to determind the model week,

However there have been some areas which have moved away from this model week for example the Thames Valley area are using weeks 45 -49 as some of their work was shut out in Scotland due to the bad weather during weeks 41 -44.

Now the question is what model week do you want your office to be based on ? Its a complex question set it two high then you will be absorbing on more weeks then not , plus remember your IWT performance would reduce if you did not absorb and therefore you would protentially have to make more savings.

Set it too low then can you cope when traffic peaks in the Autumn or the end of the financial unit.

Its a decision which is best left to an indivduals offices membership to decide. Equally if your an office like some in Scotland which are at 130 BSi then you should not be setting the model week at the lowest period as the office will fail.

I know we have been arguing and disagreeing a lot dingo (not retrackting things i've said exactly, rather that i don't always feel good about saying them)

Fair to say that a higher traffic week means, that the indacator comes back with a shorter span.

Is it any wonder people leave the union? Here there is a paid for service to manage membership affairs and at the end of the day they say - it's best you decide for yourself. It's like going into the chippy and having the bloke sling a cod and a spud at you and saying - here's your fish and chips and it'll be a fiver thanks.
