ill health retirement with pension....enhanced?

i read somewhere on this site that if you get ihr with pension......the pension would be enhanced? Is that the case? and if so, enhanced by what? 10%...20%....50%? Thanks for any advice .....

If you have more than 10 years' Company service (including at least 2 years' Qualifying Service)

You will receive a pension equal to:

the pension you have built up to the date you actually retire, calculated in the same way as if you had between 2 and 5 years’ Company service
plus
an additional pension calculated as 1/60th of your CSDB Pensionable Salary over your last 12 months’ Reckonable Service before your retirement, for each year (and part year) of your Additional Service Credit.
You may also be entitled to a Pension Supplement.

Your Additional Service Credit, in this case, is calculated as the higher of:

an enhancement to increase your Reckonable Service up to 20 years or an additional 6 2/3 years' Reckonable Service, or, if less, the Reckonable Service you could have completed between the date you actually retired and Normal Retirement Age
and
an enhancement by 75% of the Reckonable Service you would have completed between the date you actually retired and Normal Retirement Age (age 60 if actual retirement is before 1 April 2010 and 65 if actual retirement is on or after 1 April 2010).
Please note: the Additional Service Credit cannot be more than you would have completed between the date you actually retired and Normal Retirement Age (age 60 if actual retirement is before 1 April 2010 and 65 if actual retirement is on or after 1 April 2010).

Thanks for all the info....and i am sorry for repeating previous posts of mine..but i am due to see the ATOS doctor in the next few weeks.I have long term health condition and several years ago was told by a ATOS report that i could be considered for for IHR with lump sum.I could not afford to go then and still cannot for such a small amount.I am very worried that if ihr with lump was offered again....they could push me to take it.Ihr with pension i would consider.Can they force me out?

Every employee paying into the RMPP ( with more than 2 years service) gets their pension enchanced if they are given IHR with Pension. Otherwise the Pension will be frozen.

If the business cannot see any improvement in your condition in which you cannot do your usual duty ( they use the 9 month benchmark ) they will try and get you out. Also if you are on a Stage 2 , one more absence can in theory get you leaving the job without a penny.
Your best bet is to get your condition covered under the DDA which forces the RM to make some allowances for you.

Thanks Easter Bunny....i am already covered by DDA for what its worth.So basically,if ATOS say not going to get better for at the next 9 months..get rid.I do not have much say in the matter. If the shift manager after seeing report says bye bye.Thats it ?

Well.. The business has to consider if any other allowances can be made to your work before it comes to that stage otherwise they will be trouble under the DDA ... However, it is not all one way traffic. You will need to co-operate with the RM/ATOS to accept something you feel confortable about.
Otherwise if you unable to come to some sort of conclusion, they will go by the medical evidence and give you IHR...

Are you sure given the figures available that this is not the best avenue for you ? Where do you think you will be with the RM in 12 months time ?

If you cant be sure and think you will be in the same boat as today it might be the best time to go ...

You need to make it clear when you have the face to face with ATOS what you feel the work you can accept. It is up to RM to make allowances for your condtion, indoor work, light duties or moving to a new office . You will have to armed with your medical evidence that your duty since the revision is unacceptable.

However, on the other hand , if you back yourself into a corner and refuse anything or everything the RM has to offer (im playing devils advocate) you are given them the chance of getting rid of you...

I would also make sure if you are a CWU member that your Area Rep is involved. Also make sure you get any changes to your job with ATOS in WRITING..

If there is a re-sign you or the rep should make sure that any indoor duty in your office is kept aside for you under the DDA...

You should go and have a talk with a disability advisor at the Jobcentre who will fill you in exactly with what your rights are.
Don't expect an easy ride off RM though as they like to quote shite at you.

I know through talking to a few work collegues that a re-sign is on the cards in the new year so i'll have to start looking into what i can do....when i go to see the Atos doc should i be pushing the indoor thing because of the DDA situation?

General...from reading some of your posts i can tell that you know what it's like to recieve a RM shafting, i appreciate any advice you can offer and i will definatley make a point of arranging a face to face with a disability advisor at my local job center sometime this week.

Yes...under your DDA you should get the first pick in all indoor work..I would make this your major argument when consulting with ATOS....

Regarding the DDA thing,what would happen if there wasn't an indoor job because for instance the PHG in the job now couldn't do deliveries but is NOT covered by DDA?
