Full Timers prepping Part timers walks

Could anyone please tell me what this includes,
does it include the full timers, Prepping the Door2Doors ? , Re-Directions being done ?, killoffs being done ?

The part timers start at 9am and finish at 2pm in case this matters.

Our union rep said the part timers will come in and finish off any prep ... etc. So i figure you will have X amount of time to do what you can.

It should go something like this on a 3.30 del span.
13.50-14.00 pouch off
13.20-13.50 Break
09.50-13.20 Delivery
09.35-0950 Conveyance
09.00-09.35 Re-di kill offs bundle up
That would be the basic idea with maybe slight differences over travel times.
Now that's the THEORY doesn't mean it's the REALITY.
And of course break could/should be taken in middle not at end.

Those on a 25 hour contract should only have to do re-directions, kill offs, tie up and go. As the present deliveries stand at 3.5 hours, 1 hour in office doing re-di's, kill offs etc, including 20 minutes meal relief, 15 mins conveyance to start of delivery, 3.5 hours delivery and 15 mins back to office, makes up their 5 hours.

Remember this is meant to protect full time jobs, not create a division between f/t and p/t.

There are no national guidelines on double prepping.
As gb has shown you have approx 35mins indoor work time.
Anything that takes you over this will impact on your delivery time and should be a management/resourcing problem.

We have been doing this for 18 months. On a rural duty you prep your round and the parties, throwing out the D2D first 6 till 7:45 then concentrate on your own round. Meal relief 8:30-9:10 Then out the door.On a town walk you should have time to complete every thing, meal relief 9:10-9:50.you dont do inward sorting,(one part timer means 2 people off inward sorting)which slows every thing down so you cant get out early,so you have a full 40 min break before you go out.

In our office all we do is prep the frame and make up the house holds for that day, parcel bag and re-directions get done by the part-timers when they come in, if we have time we'll do it all, but those days are very few and far between

in our office us rurals start at 7am then just prep there round then out don't have to there breaks!! out 0845-0915 depending on volume

This is exactly right. Strictly speaking, if you cannot complete the final prep of your frame do you treat it like lapsing and just take what is ready and go? Do you approach your manager and tell him I don't think I will be prepped in time, do you want me to bring back what I don't get round to deliver? There will be times when full timers won't be able to prep your frame due to unforseen circumstances so do management have a contigency plan in place should this situation arise? As fishtank says, it is a failure by short sighted management and no national agreement on the make up of part time contracts.

In my office most part time duties are the same as full time, but the full imers do IPS. Some part time duties get a small amount of prep done for them on certain days.

You cant say 'part timers should do this, and not that', It's the duty, not the number of hours in your contract that defines what you are meant to do.

Correct - allthough the number of hours may limit how much you can actually do, and therein is the reason for a managerial presence. They get paid to make decisions, don't do thier work for them, let them sort if and make the decisions.

I can only speak from my own experience but all the walks in our office are down as 3 and a half hours. Do you have walks that are shorter than others, have management admitted they got it wrong on some of your walks?

All walks based on 3.5 hrs, although some can be done in less on light days. Rurals much longer.

We have longs and shorts, the longs being 6 hrs for part timers, wed thurs and fri.
