night supervisor allowance

I remember hearing that night supervisor allowance for a css shift was £30, two guys at our office went for it but are only getting paid £15 each. The manager says because there are two of them and they sometimes are on at the same time then they share the allowance.

Sounds dodgy to me - can anyone confirm or deny please.

I don't know the official answer. But if what they say is true. Then why aren't they sharing their Management wages, when there's more than one of them working?

Is this the same as leadership allowance? In our office the person in the locker in the afternoon/evening gets it since there is no manager in the building. Only one person can be paid it at once so the two people who do the duty (they alternate between early and late shift) get each half, much the same as you are describing.

Hummmm leadership allowence?? We have a PHG in the afternoon who is there till 5pm he has been given a booklet of the things he is responsible for. Should he be getting anything extra?

no one should get allowances(not beein bitter like)i lost my ESA with everybody else so why the f@@@ should other peaople get allowances

If only one person can be paid the allowance, then only one person should be doing that duty. If it requires 2 people, then 2 people should be paid. How long do you think it'll work for, if only one person agrees to do the duty?

How does it require two people to be in charge of the office in the absence of a manager though? Only one can be in charge so only one can be paid the allowance (plus AL/sick/day off cover of cause). At least this is how it was explained to us when the afternoon duties were introduced in our office.
