Same old CR*P

Just in the process of going through our revision, been told that it is coming in in the 3rd week on November no matter what!! We have had no input in it what so ever. Walks have been put up on the notice board with the predicted times that each walk is expected to take. We are going to have HCT walks and CDV van walks. The times they have put up are laughable one HCT walk takes 3.27hrs while the HCT walk next to that one is down to taking 4.36hrs and thats the figures Royal mail have put next to them!! We are having our start times changed from 5.45am to 7.00am with last letter being 3pm. One HCT duty has the first and last letter within 1mile of the office but the furthest point you end up from the delivery office is 3miles away!!!
Some of the rounds are over 4hrs as they are now, they have added more to these rounds and are telling us that they are now 3.50hrs!!! God its going to be a good Xmas!!!!!

I know it's not funny, but that last post was so reminiscent of my very last delivery.................prior to the revision the delivery took 4 hours, they then added more to it and lo and behold because the delivery spec could not exceed 3.5 it magically became 3.5 and that was with union involvement.

If the walks have been displayed then you will be at stage 3 of the agreement. These now need to be tested and negotations will take place. If a walk is down as taking 4 hours and you believe it is 5 hours get it tested.

No rep should sign off step 4 until the office is confident that the walks are correct , the attendances are done and of course the members have voted on the agreement.

Of course no one wants a revision but the agreement states you must have a series of revisons.

However it is down to the members , the local rep , the area rep , the branch and the divisional rep to ensure each office has the best deal they can get and that the 6 step process is done correctly including the IWT , geo route etc.

as i was sayin before m8 on the other topic,29 duties up on the board been up for 2 weeks now,DSM comes down goal post moved needs 3 duties out,26 now they want,all the waste of time and hours and also the planners fault apparantly.its a joke

So we're back to the winners and losers scenario again - "get the best deal that you can" is that office by office, area by area, frame by frame - what on earth happened to collective bargaining..............surely each person who is paying the subs should expect the same treatment wherever they are employed - we know it doesn't happen of course but this agreement has done nothing to mend the situation.

Our DOM insists he will only test one round. TBH they look massive and the same thing is happening at our office. Bullied into finishing and not cutting off. NO OTY MON/TUE SAT.
And they give a hard time on ot period.

far as i can see is the rounds will be far too big. managers will throw the IWT tool and outdoor at us and we will be made to work until dark.
I mean some very quick posties can't do it when doing the job right. Coming in on time, taking meal relief etc.

So do we get a vote in the office wether we agree to these unachievable changes? Because imo this is a way to get rid of people through nutrition.

Dingo just a query, do non-union members get a vote on this procedure, they never used to but now it seems all the office get's a vote, whats your view

No O/T and no cut offs soooo what do you's do. work for free?
Bring whatever you have left back at your finishing time they can't discapline you for refusing unpaid O/T!

If they through IWT and Pegasus at you, remmember the parameters are all unagreed (one of the many reasons i voted no). The tools are agreed but the performance standards aren't if you can't do it in time it's not your lack of performance but their unrealistic expectations.

There has always been winners and losers,now is no different locally.
Now the 'losers' should perhaps have more input and get more involved with what is going on in their office.

This is a massive revision,people need to wake up and get stuck in.

Why? Why are the walk spans different,shouldn't they all be the same,on paper at least?

Well, there is a question! If the input has been agreed at a level of let's say 4 hours, then they should all be roughly 4 hours...............3.50, 4.10 etc depending on the geography - it obviously wouldn't be practical to stop a delivery half way down a street not connected with another but an hour is carrying it a bit too far, there should be allowance made for those parts that do not fit practically into a delivery. Something doesn't sound right here unless of course they have tailored the duties to fit full/part times...................
