It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: Toilet break
When I've been on a rural duty I've driven 5 miles to my house to use the loo, it was nearer than any public toilet & the DO. No doubt if they had found out I had gone off route I would've been disciplined. I refuse to knock on anyones door so I can use the bog
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Re: Toilet break
Employers are required by law to provide staff with adequate toilet facilities that are accessable throughout your working hours.

Re: Toilet break
At least it's "easier" if you're a bloke.
I have to make sure I go to the loo just before I leave the D.O. and risk getting dehydrated because there aren't any toilet breaks on my round.
I worry that if I knock on someone's door (I'm sure they'd let me use their facilities) but I'd be disciplined for leaving my trolley out of sight.
There are no public toilets on my round. There are very few public toilets ANYWHERE nowadays as they get closed down due to vandalism etc. The ones I have seen, I'd be very loathe to use in case I caught something!

Re: Toilet break
Now is the time to get theses official stops in!
With all the revisions going to happen, sort out your toilet stops for each duty,if you have to drive/walk 10mins out of your way then tough on the planners yes.

Its the law:
In Scotland, if someone knocks on your door and requires the use of your toilet, you must let them enter.
