we just got to view the new routes for our office, using the new delivery specs. I honestly believe this will move the company backwards instead of forward. One of the walks is using an HCT and at the start of this walk there is private houses on a steep incline. Now i wouldnt be wanting to push an 80kg trolley up that street. No and i repeat no postman/woman was consulted during the planning of these the new walks. It seems to be there way or the highway. God help us all!!!!!!!

ffs if you dont agree to proposed changes put in disagreement
all changes have to be agreed and accepted by members including duty span and type of delivery
if rm force in change it should be deemed ex action breaking national agreement thus allowing ia

Surely there must have been some injuries/accidents on delivery in the offices that have been using trolleys for a while? I refuse to believe that dragging the weight equivalent of a nine-year-old kid in a pram behind me using only one arm is good for my long term health.

same in our office,10 of the new walks are HCT,these are gonna be the prime duties,it seems to have been done by a halfwit,from 1 area to another there are huge gaps,then the long walk back to the office,whistling the tune from Bridge Over the River Kwai,executive action all the way,it would make our managers blood boil if WE had an input to OUR job,what a load of balls

We were told any HCT duties starting less than a mile from the office should be able to walk to and back from their delivery. Two such duties have very steep long hills to travel up before they start,still,as long as it looks a good idea on paper eh?

in our office it suppose to kick in nov , weve lost 3 dutys in 1 section, no input from postmen/postwoman only the cwu/dom and the other idiots , we havent even seen the new walks, apparently 1 walk is a trolley and there is no footpath for at least 2-3 miles so you would be pushing it on the road where is the health and safety there.

My duty has changed, most of it was originally going down hill on the streets, the dimwit who changed it now has the majority of the walk up hills, So I now have to push a trolley up rather than letting momentum take it down!

We are going through a revision and it’s a nightmare. Most of us have disagreed. Rep said we must all put our heads together and take on more work. yes rep said "we have all got to do more" If we cant agree the rep and boss aid someone else will come in and force it through. I questioned this as what is the point of it all if it’ going to be forced on us? they both, yes both said that’s what will happen. Our rep is on the doms side by the look of it.

to put it simply - We are all F****D.......i think this new revision will take the company back and not move us forward one bit.

We had a great laugh this morning. One of the walks in our office is to use the new hybrid van!!!!!! and according to the walk printout has to drive 4.2 miles across the city to deliver one street (approx 30 calls) then drive back......absolute nonsense!!!!!!!!

If every office is struggling now with trying to get walks finished on time...whats it really going to be like when this all goes live. The talks of taking ex amount of walks out of a office is all good on paper, but the reality is when your actually do the job whether its indoors or out might take you longer than expected. Geo route is to blame for all of this, but its the closest thing that they could get to calculate the walks...even if the walks are not 100% accurate...a rep said that give or take 15 minutes each way is a good thing...sorry but i don't agree with this at all.

I personally don't think every office has looked into the revisions properly, have they considered how many gates you have on each walk (some have none), stairs, hazards, flats that you can't get into because the service button is no longer available. In the van...a check up every morning to make sure the van is in a legal for the road, filling up at the petrol station, traffic jams (especially if were starting later). The list goes on but i don't think they have looked at everything, and all of this takes time, and time we may not have.

We have ben told that our revision will be started after xmas and if we do not get involved and try to help work out the cuts then the planners will come in and rip out 5 walks regardless. We have been promised a focus group with the CWU and the Dom.

Same in our office. Our rep is very reluctant to fight the unworkable aspects of the revision. He isn't going to rock the boat as he has the most ridiculously easy round I have EVER seen. He'll go along with almost anything as long as he's left alone.
