fixed term contract

hi lads and ladies i got taken on by royal mail in june on a fixed term temporary contract which is due to run out on december the 13th there is a few whispers going round the office that when shared vans come in roughly the end of this month that all fixed term temm contracts will become surplus to requirements does anybody know what i can expect cause i really dont wanna be job hunting or signing on a few days before xmas , i actually enjoy the job and dont wanna leave cheers for your replies

I doubt anyone here is better placed than yourself to gauge what is likely to happen. I, like you, am on a fixed contract for the same length of time which comes to an end right at the beginning of December. Given the lack of staff in our office, I expect that the managers will be keen to keep all of us for a while longer. However, I doubt that they are solely in control of the decision.

Mine's due to expire on Dec 27th ... but I've been asked to fill in holiday forms ("holiday raffle" ?) for 2011 AND 2012 :crazy:

So ... who knows ?

(PS - vans on my area due after Christmas ... hmmm)
