Organising in a brewery

Post by Thehair »

One of my customers today in general conversation came out with an opinion that the way things were going with RM, that the entire management team (top to bottom) didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing and couldn't organise a P*** up in a brewery. He's a pretty clued up bloke so I've got no reason to disbelieve his opinion, but it did get me thinking.

Has anybody ever been told by their customers how much of a good job the management of RM are doing, and how clued up they are?

Must be like :arrrghhh if the majority of the work force thinks you're not doing such a good job and the majority of your customers think the same!

The main problem that I see with RM Upper Management and the rest of us including managers at the operational level is that we see the Company in 2 entirely ways.

We see it as a method of getting post from the sender to the receiver in the most efficient yet fairest way we can.

RM Management at board level see the company as a revenue raising enterprise where the aim is to make as much money as possible up front by getting the mail in, and then to spend as little as possible delivering it. That is the single reason behind the management bonus and target driven culture we are currently suffering under.

No.
In the 10 years I've worked for RM, not one single person, neither customer nor employee has ever uttered those words, at least not in the same sentence.

The two ambitions needn't be mutually exclusive.

Unfortunately, they ARE mutually exclusive when you have arrogent carpet-bagging vultures like Leighton and Crozier coming in to pick the meat off of RM's bones before leaving us all to bleach in the Sun and sodding off somewhere else to do the same thing!
