Manager's job / duty of care

Would anyone have an official job description for a RM lino? I'm about to lodge a grievance and any info regarding duty of care/responsibilities of line managers would really strengthen my case. Witty comments about standing round drinking tea / having a fag / eating pies ain't gonna cut it. Cold hard facts would be most appreciated. Thanks

as it may fall under the employees own duty of care dependent on the point you are referring to

i'm really referring to what their responsibilities are concerning supervising me and in particular whether or not i'm doing my job properly. i'd rather not go into too much detail in public

In addition to what is in their contracts don't forget that with the Health and Safety at Work Act and
under what is known as ‘common law’ all employers have a duty of care imposed on them to protect their employees.
There is also a term implied into all employment contracts requiring employers to take care of their employees’ health and safety. For example, employers must:
provide a safe place of work
provide a safe system of work
provide adequate plant and equipment
recruit competent and safety conscious staff.
If an employer fails to take reasonable care in any of these areas, an employee may have a number of claims, including the ability to resign and claim constructive unfair dismissal and a personal injury claim in appropriate cases.
