Should I take all the D2Ds

In our office if people have been off there has not been anyone to cover the round, so it will be done on overtime or someone from another office does it. What I've noticed here is on these days no D2Ds have been done. Now for instance this week I'll be off Monday and Tuesday so I suspect no D2Ds will be done. Do I then have to take all the D2Ds for the round now over the rest of the week or can I leave a percentage as this should have been taken over the days I've been off? It's no good complaining to the boss coz he couldnt give a s**t, but he will expect me to do them. No rep either so cant ask them. Sorry if this was meant to be put under blue shirts.

We have the same problem but as I read it you dont have to take it all, the people who covered the round should take DD share as it is now classed as mail and they can be pulled up for willful delay,if no Rep find out where your area Rep is for advice!

Don't know who our area rep is, spoke to him once then next time we spoke to him he said he didn't cover us any more. Every rep we've ever spoke to seems to wash their hands of our office. They take down notes and we never see them again. When we speak to them again they say they don't deal with our office it's someone else now. Don't blame them as our office is a right mess, to much s**t for them to sort out. Just want to know where I stand then I'll argue it myself, cheers

RM scheme,RM problem,can you leave mail from Mon for Tuesday? I think not,who would be hauling you over the coals,RM management.It is not your fault that RM has no plan B to cover the inevitable lack of cover,so I put it to the forum that the problem ultimatley lay with the managers who should make sure that all door to doors are Done on the day.Yeah Right,that would involve managing!!!!!!!

Spot on union man. In my office much the same happends and thousands of D2Ds get sent back each week. Total lack of manageing from hopeless managers.
Everyone does their 1/6 except the rest day covers and the over time merchants. Then ofcourse the part timers who arrive and bundle up with no d2d having been thrown off.

Yeah I know that, knew that whatever the vote would be we, well for our office coz thats all I really know nothing would change and it would just get worse. No union and funny how a business can be run with no-one managing the managers. None of their bosses ever saying "Hold on a minute youve f****d this office up here, look at all the overtime theyre having to book to get finished with the changes and how its not running well and everyone is so pissed off".

Dunno all i know is that they are trayed up at the end of the week and sent back to the mail centre.

NO YOU SHOULDN'T DO THEM.

If I come in after my day off and they haven't been done then I leave them, they're not my responsibility. If I work 5 days then I do 5/6ths. If I do half a walk, I do 1/12th, unless I do it on a Friday or Saturday and the sheet hasn't been marked, meaning I have no idea what needs to be done (and hence, I don't do them - USE YOUR SHEET IF YOU WANT ME TO KNOW).

So no, don't be someone's doormat. If management tell you you have to do another sixth, tell them to get stuffed, stand up for yourself. There's no chance I'd do more work than I was expected to.

they may not get sent back but im sure the customer might appreciate notice that their contract is not being honoured due to mismanagement

Be careful dejavu there is very little in the agreement or the D2D guidelines to protect you and that's really what's important not what guys say on here.....they won't be in the office with you.
I'm not telling you to do them...i almost definitely woudn't myself....just be careful that's all.
