Manager VR Exercise-2000 jobs to go

Anyone know when the details are released, i believe UNite and the CMA are currently talking on the terms.
Guess it will be in the next few weeks i reckon.

What sort of terms have been offered in the letter? 1 or 2 years pay?

They have been offered two years pay !! but if your a lowlife postman you only get 6mths, now ''dingo , the truth '' give your spin on this one .....i'll wait for a respomse but i guess i't be a while before any result

Acting managers should just be returned to their old duties. there's atleast 3 in our office at this time and 10 managers in total. Biggest drain on resources in the whole of RM these clowns!!!

Just desperate for some hope, as so far up here in Scotland, as far as I know the only VR's have gone to people in processing and distribution.

At the briefing i was given they are looking for 2000 support managers out of a pool of 5000. They are looking for half to go in October and the rest by March 2011. They want the 2000 on a voluntary basis and if they do not get the numbers they will be looking at the complusory route.

2000 on a voluntary route sounds optimistic to me as chances are these support units will have been through redundancy exercises within the last 12-18 months. If they dont get the 2000 volunteers it will be interesting to see if they go down the complusory route or open up the exercise to more managers from other business units.

No mention was made of the terms, but dont assume that each manager will get 2 years pay as quoted in the media. I read this as "up to 2 years pay depoendent upon length of service" (as per current terms)

He does work in a DO, but he is nightshift, think there is 4 going, 1 guy with 30 odd years service went last week.

It seems that you would do a better job.

Get your CWU membership number and log onto the CWU website. You can access all LTBs and download the rulebook. Complaints about reps should be sent to Billy.

Axeman - the garage network is currently under review, with the likley outcome that there will be less garages required (in line with reduced mail centres). A perference exercise is therefore likley to follow once this review has been done.
