Managers are changing offices that quick nowadays they are basically F*****G things up, like Holiday Sheets, Absent records, days off, they tend to blame it on previous managers, all they are interested in is getting the mail out and going home, everything else is tell me tomorrow nowadays.
They are like a load of lions at Managers meetings and the area Manager throws pieces of steak to them every now and again to get the hunger of them…
In our office the linos are responsible for looking after the "clip board".We have three linos, one writes(if he can) on the clip board, the second one reads it , and the third one just looks on in amazement at how clever the other two are
What are line managers for?
Why for reeling in, of course. If you can't wind 'em up, you ain't doing your job properly.
That's pretty much what they get used for at our place....we wind them up....the DOM kicks their arse....we wind them up again...i woudn't be one for twice what they get....not that i feel sorry for them...most of them deserve it.

Line Managers are the cannon fodder for the Profit and Bonus grabbing managers. They are there to give us the bad news and to force us to do the impossible, unpalatable, and unworkable on a daily basis. They are also there to form a barrier between the workers and upper tiers of management so that the aforesaid managers truly believe that the stories in the courier are a proper and true reflection of the morale in offices up and down the country.
