Business Transformation - Area Distribution Lump Sums



The following bullet points will hopefully assist in clarifying as to when revisions have been deployed as to who is entitled to receive the payment.

* Where there is a stand alone Collection Unit within a Mail Centre and the Unit successfully deploys the 2010/11 Revision, then the individuals associated to that Collection Unit will have triggered the lump sum payment in line with the Agreement.


* Where there is a stand alone Distribution Unit within a Mail Centre and the Unit successfully deploys the 2010/11 Revision, then the individuals associated to that Distribution Unit will have triggered the lump sum payment in line with the Agreement.


* Where there is a combined Collection/Distribution Unit within a Mail Centre and the Unit successfully deploys the 2010/11 Revision for both collection and distribution elements then the individuals associated to that Collection/Distribution Unit will have triggered the lump sum payment in line with the Agreement.



* Before revision activity commences in a combined Collection/Distribution Unit within a Mail Centre, it is expected that management will indicate to the CWU locally as to whether both collections and road services will be reviewed at the same time, therefore there will be a clear understanding between both parties as to when the lump sums will be paid out. The timescale for completing both revisions should they be taking place at the same time must be as close as possible so that once they have been completed and deployed, then payment can be made.



* Therefore where a Mail Centre has both a stand alone Collection Unit and a stand alone Distribution Unit then each Unit will be required to successfully deploy their 2010/11 Revision in order to trigger the lump sum payment for their specific Unit. If only one of these Units has deployed their Revision, their lump sum will not be delayed/withheld and the payment will be made to those individuals associated to that Unit in line with the Agreement. When the other Unit deploys their Revision, this will trigger their lump sum and the payment to those individuals within that Unit will be made in line with the Agreement.

Annex C
Transformation Lump Sum Payments and Shorter Working Week
Delivery
Applicable to all Delivery Units including SPDO’s.
Lump Sums
The payment of £1,000 (pro rata for part time employees) consisting of 3 lump sums will be paid as follows.
£200 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit on deployment of their first non walk sequencing revision.
£600 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit on deployment of the walk sequencing revision.
£200 will be paid to everyone in the delivery unit when the Walk Sequencing revision has been implemented, and objectives achieved in line with the local agreement and no later than the end of the 6 week bedding in period.
SPDOs
All SPDOs will receive the £600 and £200 payments in line with their parent delivery unit.
Shorter Working Week
To be implemented in all Delivery Units in line with the Walk Sequencing revision.
